I'm still playing, but only because of my insatiable desire to finish Inferno in HC mode (I played softcore through Normal for a few days after launch and have been HC ever since). I killed Inferno Belial with my Barb on 7/15 and have been farming act 1 like a madman to save gold to buy gear for act 3 and it's not going well. Upgrades at this point are either 10-20+ mil each or simply aren't available at all.
I can farm act 1 in my sleep, yet act 2 is still a challenge/dangerous/slow.
I've gotten every class to level 60 and have geared up my DH as a Nightmare Goldfinder (also to work towards the 100k DH kills achievement). I've also geared my Monk a bit in attempt to eventually progress through Inferno, but I just flat prefer Barbarians. My Wiz and WD are not geared for level 60 or Inferno yet.
It's weird- I'm a huge D2 fan, having played off and on since launch (HC exclusively), and I almost didn't get d3 at all because of how much I expected not to like the game, yet I'm in the extreme minority among my gaming friends as one who has stuck with the game. *shrug*

A bunch of my HC Diablo friends haven given up on D3 and moved on to this game. It's sad as these are guys that I've been playing D2 HC with off and on since launch. And TBH, I'm not far from joining them as I'm becoming less and less interested in D3 with each passing day. I'm very sad/disappointed with many decisions Blizz has made with D3. My Hardcore barb is level 60 and in Inferno act 1. Hardest part was Hell Izual by far- he actually got me below half health as I was unable to protect against freeze fort he last 30 seconds or so of the battle after Wrath of the Berserker wore off. I've got approximately 7k damage, 50k life, ~400 to all resists, and ~7.5k armor and I've played everything pretty much solo with an enchantress. Working on upgrading gear before progressing into inferno. Those zombies hit really, really, really hard and I've only played through the basement under Adria's hut =/
Looking forward to patch 1.03. I love all the softcore whiners who say that inferno is already too easy and that they need to make it harder- I tell these dorks to stfu and play HC id it's so easy. Posted: June 7th, 2012 @ 12:05PM
