Haven`t played an RTS in so long everything I do feels really awkward, as though I`m trying to play while drunk except I`m not :P Posted: July 28th, 2010 @ 6:47PM
Yeah things that used to work fine in IE don`t even work for me any more. I can`t remove videos from my subscriptions panel, and now when I click to go fullscreen everything freezes for 5 seconds and crashes if I try to do anything else. Posted: April 4th, 2010 @ 6:18PM
Still desperate for a key, and trying not to get scammed on ebay. Anyone from our old Travian clan with an extra, maybe? jvarsava at hotmail dot com. Posted: March 24th, 2010 @ 12:57PM
The problem is religion in general, although clearly Islam is the most dangerous and violent religion in the world today. Steven Weinberg said it best, "There will always be good people and bad people, but for good people to do evil things, it takes religion." These Muslim fundamentalist terrorists and killers are simply doing what they believe God wants them to do. You can`t say that they are acting crazily or irrationally if you yourself believe that you are eating the flesh and blood of Christ on Sundays, or that the creator of the universe is talking to you as well.
Christianity glorifies the same terrifying behavior as well. Take Abraham for example; if you hear a voice from God in your head telling you to murder your own son, then you better go ahead and do it! The faithful Muslims are just following the same kinds of messages from the God in their own book, and if you can believe such messages can come from your own religion as well then you have no rational basis on which to criticize them. Sam Harris explains this pretty well in an interview with Bill O`Reilly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GExMLKOuySA Posted: November 6th, 2009 @ 8:01AM
Nebu, all your comments in this thread have demonstrated how important it is to have evolution taught in schools. The theory of evolution is every bit as well supported and accurate a description of reality as the theory of gravity. Without evolution, you can`t even begin to understand anything in the field of biology. It`s the one central idea that ties together and explains the function and development of absolutely all life on this planet.
When you say things like "man came from monkeys" and "it happened by accident", you`re arguing against something that has nothing to do with evolution, and something that no one even suggested in the first place. It sounds like you got some sort of phony characterization of evolution from a Christian pamphlet that lied to you about what the theory actually says.
Here`s a short video from a faithful and well educated Christian that you might find interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zi8FfMBYCkk Posted: September 5th, 2009 @ 12:07PM
I live in Vancouver and had my first hospital experience a couple months ago. I hurt my ankle pretty badly playing basketball and thought it might have been broken. I went to a medical clinic downtown at around 10 am on a weekday morning and it was pretty empty. I had to wait about 20 min. to see a doctor, and he said that I really needed to get an x-ray and that I should go to the hospital.
I headed to the ER at the main hospital in downtown Vancouver and checked in. I waited about a half hour and a nurse took my background info. Then I waited about 90 min. until someone took me to the x-ray room and took a bunch of x-rays at all different angles. Then there was another 90 min. wait or so until a doctor came to discuss my injury and explain the damage that was done and how long it would take to heal.
All together the process took about 5 hours, but it would have been an hour or so quicker if I had just gone to the hospital to begin with. I was expecting it to be much worse. Getting in and out of the hospital in the middle of the day downtown in one of Canada`s largest cities only took about 4 hours all together, and that included getting x-rays. Anyone who willingly goes to see this movie and then complains about the gay themes is obviously a closet homosexual. The best part of this movie will be reading conservative reactions to it. Posted: July 10th, 2009 @ 6:41PM
He was an eccentric old man who died doing something he found exciting and dangerous. That`s way cooler than a cowardly suicide. May his legend live on! Posted: June 5th, 2009 @ 7:31PM
It doesn`t run infinitely, and there`s no such thing as free energy. One of the links on that page points out:
"Mylow says he has seen some deceleration over time. Perhaps the energy supporting continued rotation is a function of the magnet gradually giving up its magnetism, like a battery. He had the stator magnet remagnetized, and the motor worked again." Posted: April 5th, 2009 @ 12:28AM
What if the Jewish church started lobbying the government to ban people from eating bacon in America because their holy scriptures say it`s wrong, and that you will suffer eternity in hell if you`re not kosher? Christians would rightly tell them to f-off and mind their own business. That`s why gays/lesbians are rightly telling Christians to f-off and mind their own business too.
The separation of church and state is one of the few good things the United States has going for it right now. It would be a real shame to allow any religious groups to have a say in matters such as who you`re allowed to marry, what you can eat, or on what days you`re allowed to work. American politics is like watching a bad reality show. Putting Palin up for VP is nothing more than a cynical attempt to "ride the Hillary wave" and scoop up all those hockey mom votes that Hillary was campaigning for. So they come out of nowhere with this moose-hunting baby-factory from some random Alaskan village for a candidate. It`s like McCain is saying, "Ladies of America, we the Republican party think you are so fucking stupid that you will vote Republican just because we are offering you another woman to replace that cow Hillary." Does anyone in America honestly think that Palin would be a VP candidate right now if it weren`t for Hillary? Not a fucking chance. Posted: September 11th, 2008 @ 3:45AM
I really liked that game. The powers you get to play with are just awesome. The story moves in some really weird but interesting directions too. Posted: September 9th, 2008 @ 11:53PM
If the rumour were true that she`s trying to cover up her kids pregnancy by taking her out of school for eight months and treating it like some sort of great evil that needs to be covered up to protect her own political career, then that would be an incredibly sleazy and dishonest move on her part. Not saying that actually happened, but she herself would be entirely to blame for dragging her family through the mud if it turned out to be true, and voter`s should absolutely be made aware of something like that. Very odd indeed... Obviously it`s from Japan but I wonder what city. If they so desperately needed more space for houses it doesn`t really make any sense to leave the stadium intact since now they`ll never be able to demolish it with all the houses in the way. Leads me to think photoshop is involved. Posted: August 17th, 2008 @ 9:56AM
Pretty sneaky how he waited until the opening of the olympics so he could admit to it while the media is focused on Beijing. Posted: August 9th, 2008 @ 4:54PM
Glad they got rid of Katie Holmes, she was the only thing I hated about Batman Begins. Maybe my opinion is skewed by the whole Tom Cruise thing but I think Maggie is much more attractive as well. Posted: July 21st, 2008 @ 1:30AM
