IN RESPONSE TO: Game of Thrones

To be honest, I'd much rather see hot people having sex than catelyn and ned.

    so take that, book purists.

as far as the sex ruining the story, hahahahahahahahhaaha, please gtfo. at least the show is showing consensual sex and not graphic rapings at the end of every battle scene and throughout the story elsewhere. you guys just aren't happy unless you're complaining.

even the little finger lesbian scene was brilliant, but until the end of season 4 nobody is really going to appreciate how specific he was being.

of course I'm biased, I love the show and think its the best thing on TV. I also could care less about the sex in it. If you guys think that's porn, your porn sucks.

    IN RESPONSE TO: March News

"I've been looking for a .Net programmer for 4 months right now and the closest I've come to hiring someone ended up being a Tier 1 sex offender."

    worst recruiter ever.

either you're not offering enough compensation (I've been looking for a brand new Ford Mustang for 4 months and the closest I've come is an 84 Stang with rusted frame, anybody know where I can find a shiny new one for $5k?) or you have absolutely no idea how to hire programmers.

I guarantee there are a metric ton of qualified people to copy-pasta your .NET code in the right spots who are gainfully employed at your competition and either secretly hope you go out of business for insulting their perceived market value or have absolutely no idea you need their skillset.

IN RESPONSE TO: F-ing Public Schools

yeah, those godless fucks are totally insensitive to the needs of elementary age kids. anybody deranged enough to think of such a horrible story and then have kids be the target audience should be shot.

    there outta be a law.

the only bad part about this story is that he wasn't instantly paralyzed as a warning to equally retarded fuck sticks, "don't jump off a building unless you want to live the rest of your life in a wheelchair, fuck stick!"

IN RESPONSE TO: Blizzard set to debut “something new” at PAX East

destiny? titan? after d3 I must say I don't really give a fudge.

let me know when blizz gets back on track with being a game factory instead of a money factory.

    IN RESPONSE TO: DBPimpin'

I don't actually see anything needed for any of those images except for maybe some paint for the graffiti.

It's only our sense of entitlement that makes us think grass isn't allowed to grow between the sidewalk and failed businesses need to be replaced with something new as soon as the space is available.

Anyway, it won't matter what shiny new buildings go up if the people of compton continue to intimidate outsiders to stay away and the only homes in compton support poor people. Any attempt at rejuvenation of a few corners misses the point that the entire city is built for another century and without 20 years of central planning that includes replacing tons of housing compton will never get out of it's inclusive gang-focused mentality.

IN RESPONSE TO: PS4 Announcement - Abridged Version

as someone who watched the 1.5 hour version, this is 100% of the information they released without the video game footage.

Find the game footage, and you've found the other 15 minutes worth watching.

My PS3 plays little big planet, bluray's, netflix, and amazon.

    That's pretty sad.

    IN RESPONSE TO: Gas

    Two things to list here.

    1. If you depend on gas to make a living, you should plan on getting a raise this year. If the only way to get a raise is to find greener pastures, then pull the trigger.

    2. Just go ahead and plan on spending $6 a gallon throughout 2014. Use that estimate to determine how much of a raise you absolutely positively need in item #1.

IN RESPONSE TO: Never Use Carnival

If they wouldn't risk the revenue from 2 other ships in the area who were able to provide them PR gold, why on earth do you think they would reduce prices?

They just want to sell you on a fantasy. It's why I never go on cruises. False advertising is a term that is too tame to describe them.

IN RESPONSE TO: 100 Days Until Taxmageddon

the vast majority of that stuff is just FUD. lots of stuff on that list impacts very few people relative to the general populace, and even more is just ticky tacky items added just so the list looks long.

also, you just said you're having problems. lol. perspective please.

    IN RESPONSE TO: September News

"Someone HAS to do the jobs that pay next to little"

No they don't. They could tell taco bell to piss off and go live in a one-room cabin down by walden pond if they wanted.

The jobs that pay crap don't pay crap just to keep the little guy down. They pay crap because any 15 year old with zero work experience and english as a second language can do them successfully and thus there will never be a reason to try to retain people. Just replace them as there is a constant supply of 15 year olds looking for work.

"comfortable" salaries are what you get when you build a career with a specialized set of knowledge that requires patience, study, experience, and tenacity. Also there will be significant crappy work involved that your teachers failed to mention when telling you how you were going to change the world.

As there are only a limited number of people with the mental faculties for this who also have not managed to get themselves thrown in jail for 20 years and have shown that they are able to do the work and have the ambition to keep pushing when other people just throw their hands up in the air, they get paid. The owners would rather pay them less, but they risk losing key talent to competition and a skilled worker is a very valuable cog in a business owner's finances.

Also, the fast food joints have only been around for less than 100 years so to use a phrase like "have to be done" is a bit presumptuous.

As for your scenario that all of this crazy talk is about, the government has been doing that for as long as there have been dollar bills. It's called inflation, and rich people know how to abuse the hell out of it.

IN RESPONSE TO: Diamonds are BS (7 pages)

i bought my stone from a pawn shop and paid the extra $120 to have it mounted in the setting she wanted.

There is basically no way I would ever buy a "new" diamond. The pawn shop was enough of a rip-off, as I will only ever be able to sell my stone for 80% of what it cost me.

Just remember, they're banking on the fact that you will never sell the stone so it's a one-time life purchase supposedly. As if that is supposed to make me feel better about getting financially raped.

    IN RESPONSE TO: September News

"Do people go to the source for their information? No....they go to Reddit or Twitter."

When the source won't release his past 10 years of tax records, speculation is the only option.

    yay twitter and reddit.

also, I have no problem whatsoever with people copping attitudes if their arguments are sourced, reasoned, and contain any type of context to explain them. in fact, it's probably the only reason to go to all that trouble on an internet post that will be buried in less than a month. If you have the right answer and the proof in a zero sum game, rub it in your opponents' faces for all I care.

but faux outrage and baseless assertions with token links just make me roll my eyes. I'd love to be convinced to vote Republican again, but they just keep trying to get all the people I disdain to vote for them too.

I'd rather be a happy communist/marxist/socialist than a frustrated social conservative who keeps pushing independent voters away with their ill-formed logic.

    IN RESPONSE TO: Republicans/Christians

You have to realize most of the anti-republican stuff comes from people exactly like you who trusted in the political ideal for the past 20 years and only now realize that capitalism needs controls from government or it will end up controlling government. Hell hath no fury like a political junkie spurned.

basically the exact same thing for anti-christian stuff. mostly ex-christians who were only fed morally acceptable portions of bible and never shown the repugnant content. also never allowed to question their religion and worked their entire philosophy of life under the assumption that their religion was true and everybody else was wrong. Hell hath no fury like a critical thinker chastised.

Also both of the categories you listed depend on controlling information for dissemination and defaulting to reflex responses when seriously questioned on the effects of their beliefs, theories, and ideals.

Yes, I've become far more centrist over the years and am leaning strongly toward the dems for the past 5 years.

    IN RESPONSE TO: Password Help

    keepass.info user here.

save my .kdb file to an online locker sync'd folder on my local drive so computer crash will mean nothing to password access.

I probably have about 50 passwords stored in it right now, and at least 25 of them are randomly generated single use. proper password management should be considered a requirement for anybody who wants to internet.

This is one thing apple did right a decade ago with their keychain.

IN RESPONSE TO: Steam Summer Sale

I'm with disastrous fate. It's going to have to get to AT LEAST 50% off for me to get into DayZ which so far appears to be more about pvp griefing than a zombie apocalypse.

dead rising and left4dead series are perfectly fine zombie games for me, tyvm.

IN RESPONSE TO: Do the nasty time. Poll

to follow up, not only was there only a 6 month super majority, but 2008-2010 were really bad years to try and do anything that wasn't related to saving the economy, so it was politically untenable to try and do anything other than the healthcare bill (and arguably that is a bet that hasn't paid off yet).
