    IN RESPONSE TO: Poll

Target`s attractive female to unattractive female/male cashier ratio is considerably higher than walmart. That alone gives me reasom to shop there.

IN RESPONSE TO: PAPER: Bin Laden Had Plan To Sell Poisoned Cocaine To Americans In 2002

Bin Laden aimed to get rid of our cocaine users?

And the problem with this is...?

IN RESPONSE TO: Student suspended for refusing to end cell phone call with mother in Iraq

The kid told the teacher to f@ck off and didn`t say that he was talking to his mother in Iraq.

The school has an anti-cellphone policy AND the kid was a $hitbag about it. Had it handled it better he would have not gotten in trouble.

The kid was suspended for using profanity towards and teacher and his attitude -- not because he was talking to his mom in Iraq.

    Damn media.

IN RESPONSE TO: Mystery Envelope Auction Ends

Eh, their online casino isn`t any better or worse than others. They use the Playtech engine, and it`s legit. The odds are actually better than most land-based casinos anyway. Although I prefer casinos that use Microtech`s engine.

IN RESPONSE TO: Mystery Envelope Auction Ends

I would not be in the least bit surprised if GoldenPalace.com is listing these auctions themselves [or someone associated with them] and getting tons of extremely cheap advertising (only lose the eBay fees)

IN RESPONSE TO: Rall's 'Tillman' Cartoon Pulled by MSNBC.com

Mifune, since you seem to have difficulty interpreting exactly what Nebu was saying, I`ll try and help clarify it:

The cartoonist deserves to "be shot" because he is blatantly poking fun at, and calling an idiot, a person who did make a very difficult decision [turning down $3.6 million] to serve his country. Then, this person who made a very unselfless act also died because of that same decision. This has nothing to do with Anti-bush.

Every person should be able to respect a person that makes a choice and a sacrifice like that.

My only complain about the whole situation is similiar to your second paragraph, in that he`s receiving all of this media coverage and, more importantly, a silver star from the Army. I`m not saying he doesn`t deserve it, but I think the other 600+ people that have died, thousands that have been wounded, and tens of thousands that will come home safely also deserve the same amount of recognition, if not to be called heroes.

If, for some reason, you want that song.. I.. uhh, ripped it and made it available.

The band is a Korean band called `Witches` and the song`s title (translated) is: There She Is!

My understanding is that the oil itself is not in a shortage, but the number of oil refinery plants that meet our [United States] quality standards. Many countries have a surplus of oil available, but due to our ever increasing demands for purity they cannot supply us.

Not sure what the best solution is, but better refineries are needed near the best sources of oil that are available. Who should foot the bill for that is open to debate :)

IN RESPONSE TO: Bush to Back Gay Marriage Ban Amendment

    Charkoth-

What about men-women couples that simply choose to not have kids? What about when the man is impotent, or the women is infertile? Suddenly these defined marriages aren`t `economically benefical` as you put it?

What about (male) homosexual couples that choose to have a surrogate mother? What about (female) homosexual couples that are artificially inseminated, or simply get a guy to be a `donor`? What about adoption? Suddenly these couples are economicially viable according to you.

Your argument isn`t a valid one.

IN RESPONSE TO: Bush to Back Gay Marriage Ban Amendment

Although in a religious sense a marriage is often defined as a union between a man and a woman, in the United States there are many laws/benefits/taxes/government rulings/etc that are based upon two people being married.

Saying two people cannot receive these benefits simply because they are the same sex, is unconstitutional. One option that has been looked at is the `civil union`, which gives homosexuals all the legal benefits of being married, but without being officially married in a legal sense.

IN RESPONSE TO: Bush to Back Gay Marriage Ban Amendment

Although I personally don`t approve of Homosexuality in itself, a ban won`t pass.

It`s a simple violation of the 14th Amendment of U.S. Constitution, Section 1.

    Specifically, this part:

"...nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

To say that same-sex marriages is illegal while opposite-sex marriages is legal, is obviously discriminating on sex and therefore does not provide equal protection.

    This won`t, and cannont, pass.

IN RESPONSE TO: I Saw Matrix Revolutions (No Spoilers)

From what I can tell, Neo won the battle because when Smith attempted to clone himself with Neo, the fact that they are opposites ended up cancelling eachother out -- thus killing both Smith and Neo. Whether or not Neo dies in the real world is up for debate, as it appears that maybe he`s just in some sort of a coma.. or maybe he is dead.. or maybe that this is the end of the trilogy, it doesn`t matter his status :)

IN RESPONSE TO: Fantasy games 'not for geeks'

I`d have to agree with this article, although the title itself is a bit misleading. There are, always have, and always will be "geeks" that play Everquest (and other similiar games). However, there are also a lot of people that play Everquest that wouldn`t even come close to fitting the stereotypical "geek".

It`s just the future, and gaming is becoming more and more acceptable.
