Not sure if it's the best console game ever. But damn if it doesn't have the best production values of any 360 game. Graphics, sound, game play all super. Best coop game for the 360 by far. It's definitely not halo. It's better, but Gears is more about finding cover. Definitely one of the 360's killer apps though.

I just started playing it tonight. Its definitely good but I have yet to decide how good. For now the verdict is out about it being the best game in a while for a console... It plays a little like Halo combined with Half Life. I don`t find the duck and cover that revolutionary of a concept or as adding to the fun. I probably just need to up the difficulty to appreciate it more. Right now it doesn`t help or hurt the game play. And maybe I need to get farther along yet but I haven`t seen TIDAL waves of enimies yet, which is what I heard from the reviews. I`ll revisit this post tommorrow night with an update maybe.

I think the only problem with the game is that the storyline is going to be short. But the multiplayer modes are extremely fun.

Well after beating acts one and two I like the game much more. The story line is a little generic but the cut scenes and dialog make up for it. I find, like in most games, that using the shotgun and manuervering myself into close range is easily the most satisfying way to play this game. The duck and cover with a smg is lame :). I can`t wait to try out the multiplayer. The duck and cover should effect the multi gameplay mechanics much more. Definitely the best fps i`ve played since Halo and set in a much grittier and cooler universe.

GoW is definitely worth owning a 360 for. Co-op is amazing, multiplayer is amazing, the game is amazing.
