| Is there nudity in A Game of Thrones? I love the books and am waiting for the season to end to buy the Blue Ray. Hope HBO didn't ruin the series with their needless nudity and profanity. |

| The Wire was almost entirely composed of nonames and it was around for a while.
EDIT: if you like a show where the good guy isn't always guaranteed to win, I would recommend Oz.

| There`s so many titties and f**king in the Tudors it`s ridiculous, not complaining of course. In reality, although Henry had many wives, he was actually a pretty faithful guy considering he could have any piece of ass he wanted in his kingdom at the drop of a dime. |

| There is some nudity in Game of Thrones but who cares, the show is awesome because the book is awesome. It's very faithful to the book so far, just faster obviously. |

| Charkoth - Game Of Thrones of course has nudity and profanity. If you've read the books you'll know they are not doing anything outside of the books as the books themselves are VERY dark. |

| Personally, I'd rather have fewer episodes of higher quality that are relevant to the main plot than 15-20 plus episodes a season where at least half are nothing more than filler content that tends to be of poor quality. |

| Don't get me wrong, I don't mind nudity here and there but physically showing sex acts without them tying into the plot some way (like Bran spying on Jaime and Cersei for example) to me is rather pointless and degrades the quality of the show. HBO just tends to overdo it in poor taste often is all I'm saying. |

At least they are following the books. They are for adults not children as is the TV show. |

| Honestly guys, the sex and nudity in the TV series is just WAY WAY beyond the books.
Despite the fact that a large number of scenes were cut from the books, they kept all of the sex scenes. In addition, they have added quite a few new sex scenes, often far more in-depth and pornographic than anything in the books. I mean, really, do we need to have a guy banging two prostitutes.. being watched by a guy getting a bj from a prostitute.. being watched by a character who doesn't even have a POV in the books?
I'm no prude. I'd expect a fair amount of sex and nudity. After all, I've read the books. That said, HBO takes it too far. It's definitely more hardcore than any of that light night Cinemax porn I used to watch as a kid. It's definitely closer to Hustler than to Playboy.
The sex craziness also leads to big changes elsewhere. You know the gay stuff between Loras and Renly? Yeah, that was subtlely referenced in the books. You weren't ever quite positive that they were gay together, but it was rumored heavily. Now, in the TV series, we get a scene where he get to hear Renly going down on Loras.
I'm not complaining so much because homosexuality makes me uncomfortable. I'm complaining because they completely change the dynamic of these characters in order to shoehorn some sex scenes in. Renly was supposed to be a spitting image of a younger version of his brother, Robert Baratheon. He loved to hunt, kick ass, and party with the rest of them. He just also had sex with men. Not every gay man has to be effeminate, for the love of God. |

Hate to be that guy, but that's what the books are, so the show is likely a faithful re-creation of that.
The books are long, boring, and tedious, because they aren't going anywhere. I read them but I don't know why I bother because I don't enjoy them. |

Disagree. There isn't a lot of filler in the early books, although the last two certainly had a jump in filler. Martin just tends to follow a large cast.
The TV series does exacerbate this a little by adding points-of-view for characters that never had them. For example, Littlefinger never had a PoV. Cersei is given a PoV earlier than she is in the series. Renly never had a PoV either.
If they stripped away the extra PoVs and the extra sex scenes (simply those that weren't in the books), I think you'd have about as tight of a narrative as you could manage with an epic this size. |

| you got natalie dormer boobs. That should suffice.
but really, you're just whining about graphic homosexuality because you refuse to accept that you are bigoted against homos in a way that you accept with respect to violence or heteros.
I'm just gonna chalk it up to religious indoctrination. |

| If you're talking to me, you're just off target. I'm complaining as much about the heterosexual as the homosexual sex scenes, and my big problem with the gay sex scenes is how they've changed the character of Renly. They've taken a manly man (who was ALSO gay, imagine that!) and made him into what society assumes all gay people are like.
I'm actually a liberal atheist with plenty of gay friends, including a former roommate. I just wish HBO would scale back a little bit on all the juvenile softcore bullshit and just stick with what it's in the book (including the sex that -was- in the book). |

The entire series is filler. It's just empty, mindless, never-ending plot. |

| I gotta agree with DF. I love the show, but the sex scenes are definitely cringe-worthy.
Now, watching a gay sex scene makes me wince and squirm (I was relieved when Loras turned Renley down last episode, I was expecting hardcore gay buttsex with a boom mic hanging over Renley's balls so we the director could make SURE we heard everything), but the brothel is just OVER THE TOP. It is uncomfortable watching some of the shit that goes down in those scenes. I just start awkwardly laughing in the middle of it, it's so out of place.
The worst part is not just the graphic nature, but how LONG they go on. I mean, we get it, they're banging, do we have to watch it for 10 minutes while we listen to a soliloquy?
They're going to alienate some of the audience with this shit, they need to cool it. It serves no purpose. And you know it's excessive when True Blood is only HALF as gratuitous. |

| I'm oddly finding myself agreeing with DF, he's saying exactly what I've been saying all over.
I find just about every sex scene in an HBO series needlessly graphic. They are dumbing down what is an excellently written (anyone who thinks it is full of filler should get back to reading Harry Potter and leave the real literature to adults) heroic fantasy series by injecting not only graphic but overly obscene porno scenes in the show.
DF was dead on with his assertion that they failed to cut a single sex scene yet cut plenty of other scenes. I know from the first series they've even added a few that weren't in the books as well.
Most of us who are competent got the fact that Renly and Loras preferred men but did a sex scene ever occur in the books? No.
This has nothing to do with homophobia meorah as you suggest, in fact if anything makes me despise gays it is people like you who ruthlessly accuse anyone who doesn't embrace their actions of being bigots.
The only nudity/sex scenes I think that were tastfully done was between Daenerys and Drogo showing the balance of power and the relationship shift from the beginning to the end, and showing her at the end naked with the dragons (although one should have been sucking her bleeding nipples if I recall). The scene between Jaime and Cersei with Bran watching could have been done much more tastefully. |
