=2/2 - Storage Wars Texas is horrible. The first show is great cuz of the people. These new people are crappy. I got rid of the show. I can't watch it. I can only watch the original.
=I'm loving that show. I'm working on Season 2. They even did an episode in Irvine right next to my kids schools. The one Newport Beach area is near us also.
I still can't quite figure that show out. They never show lockers the stars don't win. They seem to have a ton of people in the background each time (because of the show) and I wonder if they are there to watch or bid or what.
'GREASE' STAR JEFF CONAWAY
Massive Storage War
Over Dead Actor's Stuff
Another TV show that's entertaining is Storage Wars. It has 2 seasons. Some idiot got a massive comic collection he sold for $130,000 when instead it's worth MILLIONS. So what an idiot. He said it was one of the top 10 collections in the world. You might have to kill yourself after that.
That show is strangely addicting. They had some marathon on one day so I figured I watch an episode or two to pass the time. Three hours later, I was still watching it.
What kills me is the idiots who lose these lockers in the first place. Some of them have tens of thousands of dollars worth of stuff in there.

It`s well known in the storage auction community that Storage Wars, as well as the other shows, are fake. On Storage Wars, the whole thing is staged. The cast are actual people in the business that A&E approached and hired to be on the show. The auctions themselves are not even real auctions. They are not public auctions, but are staged strictly for the TV show. They may be real units, but high value items are placed for `wow factor`. All the other people in the audience are just paid extras, that`s why they never win or rarely bidding.

| American Pickers is pretty cool too. There isn`t much on TV, so I`ve resorted to shows like this--decent but certainly not something I would watch if there was more good stuff on. |

| I love the collector. Every episode he`s like "Well - even if you paid me that much for it, I`d still keep it".
Plus - he`s usually hilarious. |

| I dunno, this one seems pretty real.
It's the other one - Auction Hunters or something - with the same premise that is totally fake. They ALWAYS find something super badass.
And when they haggle it is completely formulaic and always has the same resolution: "Ok fine, how about $X and (insert cute thing here, such as a homemade dinner if selling to a housewife or a pitcher of beer for a bartender)"

| I do think they tend to exaggerate the values of items so that they can "win" the episode, but I don't think it's totally fake. |

Like BivRiP, I can't stop watching this show once I start. I actually avoid it if I can (the same way I avoid buying Rocky Road ice cream at the supermarket). |

| Great show. Some parts seem staged, but it's still very entertaining. The show got me to check out a local storage auction but it was a lot less glamorous. And sad. |

| I like this show a lot too. They had a storage auction up at the storage place my fiancee and I use. There was a lot of people. I kinda eavesdropped on one of them and the bid for the storage locker they were looking at it went up to like 600 bucks. |

| i'm not in the "storage auction community" and maybe i'm gullible because i like the show but if they placed items in the units to make them more exciting, whats the deal with the one episode where there was a jaguar(or some other sort of car that looked like an 80's jag) but they clearly stated that car was not part of the unit due to some law(something about it had a working engine so it had to have ownership transfered through the dmv? can't remember)
why wouldn't they take that out of the unit if the show was staged? |

| I don`t think the actual auctions themselves are staged. I think it`s the parts where they go and figure out prices and stuff by some so called "expert." |

| Like anything on TV, you can't believe everything you see. I don't doubt certain aspects of the show are "embellished" (particularly the values they expect to get for some of the lesser items found) to boost ratings...
Having said that, I find it entertaining as hell and am diving into the Tuesday Night marathon as I type this. Is that Darrell bidding??? YUUUUP |

| Like BiVRiP and others, I found a marathon one evening a couple weeks ago and just couldn't stop watching. I think I have seen 12 different episodes over the last two weeks. That is more TV than I normally get in a month.
