Apple Apps Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on April 29th, 2013 @ 5:34PM From Bryan: some of my favorite apps are: Comic Book Lover, Flipboard Games: Death Rally, Sword and Sworcery, Mage Gauntlet, Hook Champ, Tiny Tower, Infinity Blade Apps are always going on sale, so just keep an eye out I keep an eye on Destructoid Sun: Battle Heart From Hunter: I dont know about a comprehensive list, but here are some of my favorites that I have on my iPad right now (in no particular order): Flight Control HD: This one of those games where you manage the flight patterns of some vehicles and make sure they dont crash when landing/docking. It supports multiplayer over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth as well as split screen. They also just patched it to add a new moon level (which I havent played yet). My 3 year old also likes this game. StarFront: Collision HD: An RTS that looks like a StarCraft rip off but plays more like Dawn of War. Its pretty decent considering it has to work on a touch screen rather than with a mouse and keyboard. Scribblenauts Remix (Universal): This is based on the DS versions of the game. Its a puzzle game where you enter nouns and adjectives to create items for solving the puzzles. Its a game that really puts how much fun you have in your hands since you can solve a lot of the puzzles the same way if you want, or you can see how creative you can get. I really like this one, and its another one the 3 year old likes. Starbase Orion (Universal): Probably my highest recommended game, especially if you like turn based strat games. In addition to being a fun game with very well done multiplayer (the turn taking functions like Words with Friends, and your turns are stored on the cloud so you can take your turns from any device you have), I really like the attitude of the guys who make it. Theyve already released a couple bug fix/balance patches and have added new features. They also keep their site pretty updated with what their plans are for the next patch or two. Plants vs Zombies HD: Its Plants vs Zombies. The touch interface works really well for the game. World of Goo HD: I havent finished the game yet, but its pretty fun. Its a puzzle game where you build structures using goo to try to get as many unused goo to the goal as possible. Fruit Ninja HD: This is a game where you cut up fruit. Its pretty fun with the various game types and supports split screen multi-player. They have a new Puss in Boots version as well (which I dont have yet). This is a favorite of the offspring. Galaxy on Fine 2 (Universal): This is a full 3D space game like Privateer or Escape Velocity (if EV was first person 3d). You can play through the story as fast as you want as well as doing side quests for more money to get better ships and gear. I used the virtual D pad at first, but after taking the time to make adjustments to the sensitivity options, Ive found the accelerometer to be much easier to play with. Not Games: These arent games, but I recommend them AppShopper: The app for the site I linked everything to. You can use your same account to log into both and track things. You can look up apps and see their pricing history, add them to your wish list, etc. Its fantastic. Alien Blue HD: Its a reddit client, and its better than the site (IMO). I dont even look at reddit in a browser anymore. D:
