8/16 - 12:00 p.m. - They said we're excused for lunch then called us immediately back after we left and said we could go home. Because I parked in the lawyers parking (HAHAHAHA) I was the first one out while the rest of them were stuck. Also nearby a lawyer is in his Lamborghini. Jerkwad.
8/16 There's 100s and 100s of people. They said park on 5 or 6 floor and i parked on 2. haha fuck you. they said dress up and i didn't haha fuck you. i went to the excuse line but this mexican guy was a dick and wouldnt let me out.
this one crazy lady is trying to give away sandwiches. i wouldn't trust that in todays age in CAlifornia. this one hillbilly fuck set his ringer to max and answers his phone after 3 rings and then uses speaker phone to talk. what a dick. now this comedian judge is giving us a speech.

I have 0 respect for it. They only find you if you register to vote. So trying to make something better is punished by threatening you with JAIL if you don't come at fucking 7:45 a.m. to their GHETTO FUCKING court. Their court is right next to the jail. So fuck them and fuck their courts. I lose $50 for even going. They pay you $15 for showing. They didn't care that I lost that money either. So I'm going to show them the equal respect.

A: I wouldn't want people to judge me that are there by threat of jail. They also let any idiot who registers to vote to show. There's no quality control. Old lame asses with nothing better to do are on the jury. Bored people are on the jury.
The whole system is a sham. The lawyers steal everyone's money by being involved. Any time someone gets a big payout, it's the lawyers that get rich. Then the lawyers upgrade to judges.
Also any idiot can sue you or cop charge you then it's up to you to shell out this money to defend yourself. If they are proven wrong you almost never get your money back. That one guy was going around suing the game companies cuz he was a lawyer and could do all the work for free. The game companies kept paying him off with like $500 to go away and leave them alone. He was basically a mobster shaking people down.
A couple in my extended family was killed who were rich. The drunk driver that killed them sued and got the money because it was a 4 way intersection and there was no right of way really with no stop sign. What kinda horseshit is that. So fuck the courts.
I mean it's a wonderful system and everyone should do their civic duty for justice!

| Yea I got selected this spring and I`ve never actually registered to vote but I think when I renewed my license online this year it put me in the pool some how. Lucky for me though the crackheads around here usually settle with there pleas about a week or two before hand and I never actually had to go. It was also at the time when gas was 4 bucks and the 15 dollars would have barely covered my cost to go back and forth. |

| They don't just get you by registering to vote. My wife is a permanent resident but not a citizen, so she can't register to vote, and she gets jury summons all the time, which she can't do since she's not a citizen. I'm pretty sure its all linked with Driver's Licenses now. |

This is *usually* true. The defense won't throw you out tho'. And the judge will then ask you, "what does jury nullification mean?" If you can't explain it to the judge, he won't buy the excuse.
Thing is, I REALLY DO believe in jury nullification, and I won't hesitate to acquit for victimless crimes like small amounts of mj possession.
Some jurors (OJ's jurors) acquitted him of MURDER and they knew he did it. |

| there are lots of ways to get out of being named to a jury.
if its a criminal trial, just say you hate cops, or have a close family member who is police.
i've been in selection pools with many pizza deliverypeople, baristas, etc and they all seem to be excused.
and of course others have already mentioned nullification. |

| Here in IL they use the driver's license database.
Also, in the county I live in, when you're selected, you're on call for an entire week, even if you don't get on a case. You have to call in twice a day for a week to see if you need to show up.
Both times I've been chosen I just sat around all day and wasn't selected for the courtroom. So boring. |

| If I do get selected for jury duty here in Minnesota, I just hope it's a non-Federal trial. Those fekking Federal trials are all the way downtown - that's a 45 minutes drive. And if it is a Federal Trial I get chosen for, I hope to God it's not during winter! |

| I got lucky when getting non-federal Jury Duty in Minnesota, Apricoth. Got the summons, showed up the first day and they told me to go home because I had moved from Minneapolis back to St. Paul. Different counties, off the hook!
It was winter, though, so that did kind of suck. Took the bus to avoid paying for parking, and I had to sit in the cold again to get home.

My employer, and I suspect most others, stipulate that while you get paid time off for jury duty, you surrender your government jury duty pay back to the employer. So you aren't double-dipping. |
