So Sick
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on November 5th, 2012 @ 5:10PM

Day #25 - So after about a week of fluid in the ear it cleared up and everything was fine. Then on Saturday, I catch the same illness again! M.Bacon too. The coughing is back, the mucus is back, and everything. It's round #3 of the same type of sickness. :( Least my ears work now.

Day #18 - Ear is better but is still full of fluid. :( Now our boy is sick.

Day #14 - Ear is still jacked! Life sucks.

Day #13 - Ear is even worse today :(

Day #12 - Update: Doctor just said I have fluid in my ear and that it's getting better.

Last night my left ear popped then wouldn't pop back. Now It's so muffled I can barely hear out of it. Now my right ear is starting to hurt. I'm scared to death. That would suck to lose your hearing. I have super hearing and can pick out multiple sounds and filter them all at once. Now I can barely hear at all :( I am going back to the doctor. It's supposed to be just an ear infection.. :( :( :( I'm still coughing bad a few times a day.

Day #8 or so. Still coughing until my head hurts or eyes water. The doctor gave me this stuff with codine for night but it does nothing. I swear every time I get that crap it never works.

Turtle Farm: Maybe this is why I'm sick! Looks like the turtle farm sucks a taking care of turtles. When we were there they were helping people wash their hands before/after touching the turtles: http://www.sknvibes.com/news/newsdetails.cfm/64686

As part of its attraction the farm encourages visitors to touch and pick up the sea turtles. WSPA tested and found traces of Salmonella, E. Coli and Vibrio vulnificus* in the turtle touch tank waters – meaning that visitors who touch the turtles are at risk of contracting diseases ranging from gastroenteritis to pneumonia and cholera.4
According to a 2012 poll conducted by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner5, 69% of North American cruise ship passengers polled who visited the Cayman Turtle Farm in 2009 were unaware of these health risks.

Update: went to the doctor today and got 2 things to take. The inside of my ear is all jacked up too.

I got the flu from those people on the Disney Cruise. I'm the sickest I've ever been besides that time I had to go to the hospital for the flu. Friday I took off. Sat/Sun I sat around. Monday I went to work. Tuesday I was so suck I couldn't go to work.

Now I got a cough that hurts really bad, then combines with a migraine which makes my head throb or hurt severely when I cough. The worst combo ever. So I feel like I want to die when I cough. I just do dayquil in the day, then nyquil at night. Then I sleep with a cough drop in my cheek. I still have probs though. This is the worst.

I seem to be fine if I just sit in my computer chair, but if I go outside or walk around I start getting dizzy or feel like I'm in a fog.

Whoa, that sounds like flu aggravated by something else.

Almost sounds like you should be a full spectrum antibiotic if you aren't already.

I've washed my hands after touching a turtle any time in my life. I've always been told to do so after touching turtles.

If you brought some nasty pathogen back from the cruise, make sure it doesn't set up home in your turtle tank.

We do, and did. I don't think I got anything from the turtles. I didn't match up with any of the symptoms from those 3 things.

You just got a modified engineered flu virus from those kids who most likely got a flu shot...hence giving them the flu then passing it on to you. Nice how big pharma works

I had an ear infection for nine months before. It went in one ear, would float to the other, and back again. I have bad allergies and frequently have issues but nothing like that, because it just lingered and sounds exactly like what's happening to you.

They treated me for other stuff (sinus infections) but it turned out to be basic swimmer's ear. Acetic acid ear drops work very well but you have to ask for them from a doctor. There's also a specific antibiotic for it. The ear drops feel really good, too.
