I won a class action lawsuit!
Posted by: Nebuchadnezzar on February 2nd, 2004 @ 1:01AM

-I put the check in my account! I was surprised to see it would take checks for 33 cents!

-I was identified as a member of the class of Citibank and AT&T Universal Card customers who are eligible for a refund under a settlement agreement titled Schwartz v. Citibank. I get a huge cash settlement of 33 cents. Why even bother sending me a check for 33 cents. What a joke. Should I deposit it? :)

you got more than me for that. i got 16 cents.

The bank might say `sir you cant deposit that, it costs us $4 in paper work just to process it!`.

So just ask the bank for $2 and you`ll forget about it.

Haha kind of funny because it probably cost the company hundreds of thousands if not millions, yet all you recieve is money I would normally just throw in the garbage.

So I proceeded to get out my highlighter and right "I'm rich" on the face of the check, it currently sits magneted to my fridge :)

In all honesty, what you should do is wipe your ass with that check and send it to the lawyers of that lawsuit with a poorly written post it note attached to it saying; "Thanx for the free toilette paper you 33 cent ass clown".

Most class action Suits are a joke. The trial lawyers find where some large company stiffed it`s customers and then using them as an excuse sue the hell out of the company. Then the lawyers take half and divide up the rest among the peasants, which is next to nothing(hence your 33 cents).

Then the trial lawyers contribute to the democrat party (If I remember right around 80% of their money was from the trial Lawyer association).

I think in the end if everyone cashes in the cheque`s it`ll cost Citibank a lot more in time spent cashing the cheques and processing them. Especially considering the fact that they *do* have to mail them out; it’s defiantly going to add up.

It`s people like this Schwartz lawyer that I want a good fight with. Does he think it`s worth destroying a company to give back 30 cents or less to people?? Despite you not seeing it, thousands and thousands of people are getting the same thing. This adds up to amounts in the millions and even though you only see a check for spare change, people at that company are losing their jobs for something they never did. All because DIRTBAGS like this Schwartz. DEATH PENALTY TO CLASS ACTION LAWYERS, SCOURGE OF THE EARTH.

I'll tell you why:

Money for the lawyers.

A company called CCC was attacked with a class action lawsuit involving settlements on total loss vehicles for insurance. The average person, such as yourself, got $120.00, the lawyers got $33 million.

If you don't depost it, they check will expire and the lawyers will get that 33 cents, along with everyone else who didn't cash theirs.

I wouldn`t even bother cashing it. The postage it took for the check to get to you and the paper it`s printed on probably cost more than the 33 cents it`s worth.

Who paid for the $0.33 that it cost to mail the letters out? Surely not the lawyers. You probably recieved that $.33 + $.33 ($.66), but they used half of your lump sum to mail it to you. Ha.
