Before I found the internet, and Computers, Movies were my life. I have over 250 video tapes with 6 hours of movies on them along with 70+ bought movies. I practically ran a full on video store outta my dorm room. My movies Take up a ceiling high bookcase and require quite a few car loads when moving.

Movies are pretty hard to critique. As you will probably notice I am not a movie critic nor do I wish to be one. Most of what you will see is a rating of ok, pretty good, and so on. If you expect the kind of movie reviews other people write, head elsewhere. Although I find them easier commented on than music, it's really hard to say what exactly makes you like a movie other than just saying it was "ok", "the best","if nothing better is on why not","not so good", "horrible." People try to say a movie is good or not such as the standard critics, but I find I don't agree with them at all. I think they have hidden agendas. What a movie watcher needs to do is be able to like a movie even if the acting is bad, not very good story, and so on. Not every movie needs to excell in these areas if it has something to offer. Fans of MST3k will probably be able to do this no problem. Not every movie can be "the english patient" which the critics want. Because of this, they pass up such wonderful movies like Waterworld, Postman, Armageddon because it doesn't fit their little stereotype of the "good" movie. Movies appeal to us for different reasons and I think our tastes in movies change and develope. Sometimes movies really grow on you the more you watch them. Sometimes movies are really liked the first time, then you find you didn't like them as much as you though as you watch them more. (such as comedys because the jokes are no longer new). What I like is a movie that you can watch over and over forever and that's what I build my movie collection on.

In my movie sections you will find my comments on them. You won't see the standard types of reviews other people offer and that's the way I plan on keeping it.

These pages in no way are complete, nor ever expect them to be.

When listening to people's advice on movies, you have to come up with a set of questions to ask them before taking their recommendations. What I do is come up with a set of standard obviously bad movies then ask if the people liked them: Godzilla, Alien 4, Contact, and so on. Then based on their answers I know if I can trust them or not. Some people just have no idea about movies, and that's who you need to stay away from come movie time :) You find people who loved the crappiest movie you ever saw, I'm sure someone loved Tales from the Hood. What you gotta do is find people who like the same kinda movies or make your friends cross over to your tastes like I made Warp :) So who knows, maybe you don't like the kinda movies I like and these pages are useless to you. It's all just my opinion anyway.

I love all kinds of movies. I really can't think of any kinda movie that I don't like other than Musical :)

Old Movies Don't suck
Man living with Warp and Gotcha was so frustrating. They had some idea that any movie older than 1980 or so (other than Star Wars) sucked. IDIOTS IDIOTS. The best movies it seems are the old ones. Movies were much higher quality back then it seems. I love all the movies on TNT, and I bet I'd like Turner Classics, if I ever got that Station. There are plenty of awesome movies from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s. I saw a few good ones from the 30s too :) I guess after the year 2000 I'll have to add in the 19 eh? :)

Black and White movies don't suck
Some people have the idea that if it's in black and white it sucks. This is not the case. There are some people out there that were disappointed when movies went to color. Movies lost that movie feel and became more real, which in some cases you want, but others not. I can think of various times where I'm glad the movie or show was in black and white. One TV series, The Fugitive, seemed to suck when it was in color as opposed to black and white. I really can't tell you why either. I know the Twilight Zone woulda sucked in color. There are so many good movies that were in black and white, don't pass them up.

Westerns
Man John Wayne and Clint East Wood movies are the best. You can pretty much assume if they are in it, it's good.

War Movies
Man I love War Movies. I got all the WWII movies I can get, I like pretty much any movie about US wars. I try to stay away from the Vietnam movies cuz we got our asses kicked there :)

Good Shots
You can usually pretty much assume a movie is good if it:

Is by Alfred Hitchcock (Master of suspense and movies)
has Clint Eastwood (Other than Joesy Whales, Paint your Wagon)
Arnold Shwarztasomething (Other than Commando)
John Wayne (a few crappy ones but mostly good)
