This site was originally created in 1997 when it was transformed from a very popular gaming site (1995-1997). The original name of this site in 1997 was "Everything but Gaming" to signify the change from gaming. But that didn't really make much sense because there was still links to gaming information. Later on the URL was added for www.shlonglor.com. In 2002 the site was changed again to "Expect Nothing.com" with a new layout to move away from the "Shlonglor" name.

What is the reasoning behind this site?
As the name implies, you can expect nothing! Pretty much everything goes on this site within reason except a ton of game info, porn, or otherwise extremely offensive material.

This site was originally created for an audience of 0. This stuff would still appear if only 20 people were reading it rather than millions a year. It was created for a group of gamers on the gaming service Kali (www.kali.net) in 1995-1997. The Kali Compton group continued to grow as did the random people on the internet who stopped by to see what we're up to. This is a private party but you're welcome to watch and even participate if you don't piss us off.

What can I expect?
Besides nothing, you can expect to be offended. We go out of our way to offend people especially related to politics and religion (pro religion). Offending people is a passion of this site. Basically it's a joke and you're either on the inside laughing at the idiots who are pissed off, or you're one of the idiots that are pissed off who we're laughing at.

If you can't handle being offended don't come here. No one is asking or requiring you to visit this site. If I didn't like a site I wouldn't go to it. I wouldn't continue to come and complain about it! :P

What are some of the focuses of this site?
Look through the topics. We like to link to cool things on the internet, we like posting funny movies, links, games, etc. There's a big focus on cars, politics (from a Republican point of view), movies, games, tv, and so on. Then there is lots of NOTHING.

Are the opinions on here serious?
One thing to understand is sarcasm. If you can't understand sarcasm then this site isn't for you. You won't get it. Sometimes the opinions are serious, sometimes they are sarcastic, sometimes they are somewhat exaggerated. It's up to you to figure out what is the case. There's no real effort to deceive but if you're not quick on the uptake you will remain clueless.

Who works on this site?
Nebu, Gotcha, Capricorn, TrickyDick, Istari, and the layout/site engine creator Aridin. You should look on each news post to check the name of the person who posted the news. Generally it's Nebu.

Do you make any money off this site?
Not really. It's been up for 8+ years and less than $1,000 has been made. People sometimes send in gifts or gift certificates which is NICE since all this work is done for free :)

Who is Kali Compton?
A private group of gamers (friends) that have continue to grow since 1995. If you're not a member, don't ask to be one. Watch for our clan/group openings for a chance to join. Sometimes we only add 1-2 people a year. It's an exclusive club. =]
