I really hate how in nearly every movie, a car crash results in a massive explosion when that's almost never the case in real life. It's getting so old.
I rarely watch the show, but 'Mythbusters' did a segment on this very idea.
They basically proved it was impossible, If we all drove Corvairs or Ford F150's (from the early 90's) [because both had huge gas-tank placement/ignition issues] this might actually happen.
Even when shooting the gas tank, nothing happened. They had to unload a ton of 'Tracer' rounds into the gas-tank area to start just a small fire. I don't think it ever actually "exploded".

=2/2 - Storage Wars Texas is horrible. The first show is great cuz of the people. These new people are crappy. I got rid of the show. I can't watch it. I can only watch the original.

That show is strangely addicting. They had some marathon on one day so I figured I watch an episode or two to pass the time. Three hours later, I was still watching it.
What kills me is the idiots who lose these lockers in the first place. Some of them have tens of thousands of dollars worth of stuff in there.
BiVRiP - 2011-08-27 22:16:21 It`s well known in the storage auction community that Storage Wars, as well as the other shows, are fake. On Storage Wars, the whole thing is staged. The cast are actual people in the business that A&E approached and hired to be on the show. The auctions themselves are not even real auctions. They are not public auctions, but are staged strictly for the TV show. They may be real units, but high value items are placed for `wow factor`. All the other people in the audience are just paid extras, that`s why they never win or rarely bidding.
