Either way, it's all shady business. It seems to me that all of these information gathering or information distributing groups only support information being free as long as their own information stays private. Posted: January 26th, 2011 @ 1:17PM
The one thing that I don't understand is the part where they say they want to "repeal and REPLACE" the health care law.
So basically, Republicans do want to pass a health care law and they're just upset that it wasn't their party in charge when it got passed last year. Posted: January 19th, 2011 @ 11:09PM
You can't really blame what he did on supposed "mental health" issues (I'm not saying that he doesn't have any, I'm just saying that it's not always possible to know who does).
At what point do you differentiate between someone who is weird and someone who is crazy? Should we institutionalize everyone who shows even the smallest signs of odd behavior? Posted: January 11th, 2011 @ 3:48AM
In some twisted way this terrible incident is going to help to reduce the crazy rhetoric that politicians have been throwing around so much lately. Posted: January 9th, 2011 @ 11:08PM
I hope that they give the show a real ending at the least.
At the most I hope that something or someone changes their minds about cancelling.
One of the major reasons that I love sci-fi is that it's a vehicle for showing how the Human mind deals with things that don't happen on a regular basis. I thought that SGU did that really well in a more serious tone than either SG1 and SGA did. Posted: December 17th, 2010 @ 7:24PM
Maybe all the homeless regulars already moved south and what you're getting are all the homeless from oregon/washington/canada. Posted: November 24th, 2010 @ 11:00PM
I can believe that it is real. Many security personnel are told to think for themselves, but many are also told to not think at all and to just follow the rulebook to the letter. What's worse is that security personnel frequently get incorrect or outdated information/orders.
What this TSA guy was probably told is that "Hey Bob, these military folk are going to have guns with them and we've been told that that is OK because they don't have any bullets with them. But make sure that you still stick to the rules otherwise." And he then went ahead and did just that.
Another thing to consider is that sometimes some people get intimidated in the presence of soldiers. I've seen people make the MOST backwards logic choices just because they are unsure of themselves. In my opinion it's that "fight or flight" part of the brain that makes people "stay and fight" over the most ridiculous situations. Posted: November 21st, 2010 @ 9:26AM
In my opinion people should always spawn in their starting area of the map, no matter what kind of game style it is (except for FFA, for obvious reasons). The whole "spawn near your team mates" idea results in some pretty funky locations. Posted: November 16th, 2010 @ 7:56AM
Mmmm, Mexican coke is delicious. I think that the glass bottle has a lot to do with it. Glass contaminates the flavor a lot less than plastic. Posted: November 1st, 2010 @ 11:13PM
