Hard to envision what you're describing. (let me close my eyes to help! haha) I can easily see someone close and rub their eyes while thinking/explaining something complicated or just looking away/down at the table. I do that. Easier to think when you're not constantly thinking about what other people are thinking.
Sitting face to face and just closing your eyes to talk would be weird though.
On the other hand, while I'm talking on the phone I may close my eyes if I'm tired, they're annoying me, or I am explaining something that requires concentration.

After the events in the movie I linked above, TPB doesn't actually operate a tracker anymore, they don't even host *.torrent files. They provide Magnet links.
Your point is still valid though.
Edit: link was broken.

Random dates like that are stupid. PLENTY more still on the way.
12-20-2012
1-3-13
1-4-14
1-5-15
1-6-16
1-7-17
1-8-18
1-9-19
2-0-20 (edit: ...woops, not a real date.)
2-1-21
etc...
Wake me when it's 12-31-2019, 12-31-2049 or 12-31-2099

The operating system is what's going apeshit because it can't read the drive. It's stalling while it waits for a valid/complete response from the drive.
The program runs at bootup independent of the OS.
You're probably more likely to run into a problem reading larger disks though with the program. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SpinRite#Large_drives

the following is a note I wrote to myself one night. Pretty much sums up my belief on the subject. I grew up Christian and I have never been more at peace since I was able to let myself believe what I actually believe.
The quotes are from songs.
Keep in mind that I wrote this to myself 2.5 years ago while working out my beliefs. Besides a few minor personal details, it's unedited.

"There's something in the way."
The question of where we came from has been the source of much grief in the world. Countless hours have been spent by humanity trying to find the answer to a question that has none. We will never know where or how we came to be because we cannot understand something that does not have a beginning or an end. We are surrounded by things that are born, live a time, then die. We are one of those things. Everything we can observe has a beginning, middle, and end - how then can we attempt to explain something that can not be observed?
In my xx years on this earth I've tried to rationalize both religion's and science's explanation of the origin of species, and I cannot get past the fact that both science and religion completely and utterly fail to explain how something can be born from nothing, or how something could have always existed. Both religion and science have made preposterous assumptions. Religion says that "In the beginning, god..." and science says that "In the beginning, matter and energy...". Religion and science, in this regard, are exactly the same.
A few years ago I first realized that we will never have an answer to this question. Why should we still be searching for one? I propose that we should not be searching any longer. Stop wasting time trying to figure out why and how we are here, and start spending time making our time here better for everyone.
Can you believe that entire wars have been fought, thousands - perhaps millions - have been killed because of differences in opinion about the answer to the question of where we came from? Why?
Why?
"I never thought to question why."
How arrogant must we be to say we are correct and everyone else is wrong? We have ZERO evidence of our claims, and everyone else has ZERO evidence of their claims. We instead say that we believe, or have faith. OK, believe what you want, I can't prove you wrong.
"There's something in the way."
Belief is not a choice.
Belief is not a choice, it is a belief.
I tried to make the choice to believe in god or evolution for longer than I care to admit. F**k that. Take for example the theory of gravity. I've seen the evidence, weighed the posibilities, and have come to believe that gravity does exist. If I try to force myself to choose to believe that gravity doesn't exist, it doesn't change the fact that gravity does exist, and if I were somehow successful in brainwashing myself to believe that I could float or fly, I'd die very quickly once I found a tall building and a reason to test my new found "faith".
I have never truely believed in god, and I have never, in all my attempts to communicate or listen to him, heard anything back.
"If flesh could crawl, my skin would fall from off my bones and run away from here, as far from god as heaven is wide, as far from god as angels can fly."
I don't know, and I honestly don't care anymore.
"If god's my witness, god must be blind."
F**k god.

Bonus points if you realized I wasn't capitalizing "god" for a reason.
