    file:///C:/Users/Nebu/Desktop/IVC/CIM241/PC_data%20files/tutorial4/tut4_case2/redball.htm#

  • Agents of Shield is pretty lame I think. It's a good family friendly show. None of them even have super powers.
  • I'm so bored I started a show "Downton Abbey" which is basically a show about rich British people in castle and their servents. It's pretty interesting for history buffs. It's got 10,000 5 star reviews on Amazon.com
  • I caught up with Boardwalk Empire. I like the show, I reocmmend it.
  • Started Agents of Shield. It's decent.
  • Walking Dead back on!

  • 9/9 - The Walking Dead returns Sunday, October 13 at 9/8c on AMC.
  • 7/29 - Falling Skies Season 3 On - I like that show
  • 7/26 - Totally forgot about Arrow. It's a cool show. Season 1 is done.
  • 5/13 - '24,' Kiefer Sutherland Returning to Fox, Will Jack Bauer Soften with the Times?
  • 5/10 - ’24′ Eyes Return As Limited Series On Fox, Howard Gordon To EP, Kiefer Sutherland In Talks To Star - Yay
  • 4/8 - None of you said Game of Thrones was back on. Let me sum up season 1/2 : "What is going on in this thread?" I haven't read the books. Who knows what's going on. There's like 6 storylines and only some of them make sense. They need a chart as to who is fighting who.
  • 2/27 - I seemed to have missed like 12+ Gold Rush Alaska Series 3.
  • 2/27 - Archer is back, if you missed it.
  • 2/27 - Started watching the whole StarGate Series again. That show is the best.
  • 2/27 - None of you said that Walking Dead was back. I missed 3 episodes.
  • 2/27 - Finished all the Dr Whos. Show is OK. That red head chick from the last several seasons sure is hot.
  • 2/12 - Started "Dr Who". I'm on Season 5 now. The chick from Season 5 is so hot. I didn't like the show at all season 1, but then it started to grow on me in the later seasons.
  • 2/12 - On Season 5 of Ice Road Truckers.
  • 1/31 - Spartacus: War of the Damned is back on. Season 3. This time he has an army!
  • 1/31 - I decided to try Dr Who (latest). I'm on Season 2.

  • 11/26 - Gold Rush Alaska is back for season 3. No one said anything. I was 5 episodes behind.
  • 11/15 - Don't forget about "It's Always Sunny..." it's back. The therapist episode was so funny. The Rich people episode was too.
  • 10/25 - I'm enjoying Arrow. Certainly a better guy thant he previous guy from smallville. 1
  • 10/25 - Walking Dead #2 - So scary!
  • 10/22 - South Park is back. The rascal episode was the best.
  • 10/17 - Fringe is back. Much more interesting this season.
  • 10/17 - Let us know if anything else comes back that we forget about.
  • 10/17 - Walking Dead is following the comic but is still super cool. Makes me want to play a zombie game.
  • 10/17 - Dexter is back and up to episode 3. It's awesome.
  • 10/17 - Sons of Anarchy is back and up to episode 5. It was super disturbing in a few episodes though. Made me sick.
  • 10/17 - Modern Family is back. Great episodes.
  • 10/17 - I'm up to season 3 of XENA: Warrior Princess. I don't care what people say. It's got people you recognize like Bones from the new Star Trek movie. Or Bruce Campbell. Joxer is hilarious too + his song. I do totally see the lesbian thing though and they sure play it up once people started thinking that. I don't know if I can watch Hercules.
  • 10/17 - I'm watching Quantum Leap again on Hulu. Up to Season 4.
  • 10/17 - I started watching Bleach again. I'm up to #319.
  • 8/28 - Dexter Season 7 - Back Sept 30
  • 8/28 - The Walking Dead - Back Oct 14
  • 8/24 - We started Gold Rush - Pretty entertaining. They are from Oregon so I give MLady crap all episode about them being her people.
  • Breaking Bad
  • Weeds
  • Dexter (about to start)
  • Bering Springs Gold Season 2
  • Newsroom (started this show)
  • 7/16 - Breaking Bad is back on
  • 7/1 - Let us know when shows come back.
  • 7/1 - Weeds is back tonight.
  • 7/1 - The killing came back but I haven't bothered. I'm not a real fan of that show.
  • 4/2 - Try Bering Sea Gold. It's awesome. We love it. It's about them mining gold in Alaska with boats.
  • 4/25 - South Park is back on. Up to episode 3 or 4. The live action thing was interesting. I guess that was around me, Newport Beach.
  • 4/24 - Guess Eureka wasn't canceled. Seems to be going again.
  • 4/2 - Game of Thrones is back on
  • 3/26 - Spartacus is the BEST!
  • 3/23 - New Girl is just so great. It gets better every episode. This last one was funny.
  • 3/18 - South Park is back on. So funny.
  • 2/16 - Big Bang Theory : That Penny/Leonard couple is completely impossible. Just look at him. And he's not interesting or funny or anything.

    Shows I'm On

  • Finishing up Friends Season 10. It has lots of laughs and the things I laugh the most at are the Joey scenes. He did a great job but he'll never do anything else but Joey.
  • Family Guy and Cleveland Brown are back.
  • Fringe is back
  • Finished Justified Season 2. I guess they'll have a 3rd season: "A third season of 13 episodes was announced on March 29, 2011."
  • On season 4 of 6 of 3rd Rock from the Sun.

    TV Current Status

    Mildly Care

    Hate but Watch

  • Desperate Housewives (but I could skip it if I didn't have to watch it)

    Old News

  • 2/15 - New Girl totally recommended. That chick is HOT!
  • 1/25 - Futurama Season 1-6 on Netflix - I started watching it and I'm up to season 2.
  • Spartacus Vengeance is on - The new guy sucks IMO. The show rules tho. Man that's some nasty sex shit they do haha.
  • 1/21 - Archer Season 3 is back!
  • Justified Season 3 has begun
  • Mad Men: Sunday, March 25, with a two-hour premiere
  • The Killing: two-hour installment—Sunday, April 1.
  • Try "Death Valley" on MTV. Season 1 is done. It's Reno 911 with Zombies/Werewolves/Vampires. I liked it so much I watched them all a second time.
  • Don't forget Prime Suspect

Find me TVs show to watch. I'm doing so bad I'm watching Joey, the friend's spin-off.

  • Walking Dead Season 2 has started!
  • Watched all the Archers (season 1-2)
  • Watched all 6 seasons of 3rd Rock from the Sun
  • Watched Season 1 of Joey (AHAHHAAH, no one even offers season 2).
  • Starting on Just Shoot me Season 1-7.
  • I'm on Friends Season 9 of 10. I noticed Jennifer Anistan has her tits pointing out nearly every other episode.
  • Dexter Episode 1 leaked out.
  • Parks and Recreation is back on
  • The Office is back on
  • Community is back on
  • Watching all the Friends episodes. First few seasons kinda blow but then it gets good. I HATE the intro song though. I'm on Season 7 of 10 already.
  • Forgot Sons of Anarchy is out. My TV site is down.
  • Caught up on all Weeds episodes, love it.
  • Forgot about Breaking Bad but then caught almost up.
  • Quit watching True Blood but then 1 person posted an episode was awesome which has me curious.
  • On Weeds Season 6.
  • On 3rd Rock from the Sun Season 2
  • On Angel Season 4.
  • Rescue Me's last episode was so funny the way Sheila screwed everyone over.
  • Entourage E1-4 sucks!
  • Started 3rd Rock from the Sun (6 seasons). It has lots of laughs. Totally recommended. The laugh track, again, is annoying.
  • We're LOVING Weeds. We're on season 5.
  • No Ordinary Family Canceled - It was pretty good the first 1/2 then the second half it started sucking. Oh well.
  • V Canceled - It blew. It went nowhere. They never even attacked.
  • Curb your Enthusiasm is funny but it feels kinda forced and predictable this season. The second they set up a situation you know exactly how it's going to end up.
  • Entourage Season 8 is kinda blah so far. I guess it's good it's the last season.
  • Finished Season 5 of 30 Rock. That show is so BLAH. I hate it.
  • Watched all seasons of How I Met your Mother. The Laugh Track is annoying but I grew to like the people. I actually enjoyed that show more than 30 Rock.
  • On Season 3 of Angel
  • Watched all the Buffys. I'm working on the comic too. It went to #40 issues.
  • We're up to Season 4 of Weeds. We like it. Kevin L rules in that show.
  • Caught up on Eureka Season 4. It's another show you can skip but somewhat entertaining.
  • on Season 4 of How I met your Mother. I like the characters. It's not always that funny and totally skipable but it's filler.
  • True Blood is just so lame. I don't like it. But I watch it. Every person has a power. They have 10 storylines going on at once. It just blows.
  • Ug Kennedy from Season 7 of Buffy is so annoying. Sexually Aggressive lesbian. The comics went that direction too. They made Buffy also gay.
  • Tried to start "How I met your mother" but it really isn't very funny.
  • Up to Season 7 of Buffy, , Season 2 of Angel.
  • On Season 5 of Buffy
  • Season 2 of Weeds.
  • I just realized Buffy has 3 sutter-ers in the same cast. Willow/Tara/Giles.
  • Started watching WEEDS because of your recommendation(s). I'm up to the end of season 1.
  • Up to season 5 of Buffy. Season 3 was just the best, you had Seth Green, Faith, Angel, Cordelia, Westly. The bad guy the Mayor was awesome too. I think even Spike showed up.
Then you go to Season 4 and you lose most of them and have stupid Reily.

  • Watched all 4 seasons of Robot Chicken. That was pretty entertaining but there's some really f-ed up scenes haha.
  • Watched Season 1 and 2 of Black Sheep Squadron.
  • I'm so bored I'm back to watching all the Buffy's again.
  • Game of Thrones: Nooooooooooooo
  • Almost done with Season 1 of Black Sheep Squadron. They sure reuse a lot of war footage. Pretty great show for 1977 though.
  • Finished all 8 seasons of Magnum PI. Took about 2 months.
  • Anyone ever watch The Rat Patrol?. I liked it as a kid. I found season 1. No luck on Season 2.
  • Game of Thrones is super exciting now.
  • Up to season 7 of Magnum PI
  • Watching the Killing. I still don't care. Every episode they give you another person who could have done it. They keep tricking you into thinking you've found the killer, then show they're innocent. Of course the show is more interesting after doing LA NOIRE.
  • Watched Parks Season 1-3. The show starts out slow but gets really good in season 2 and 3. There's at least one gut wrenching laugh per show and a few times it's laugh to tears. (ron and the spinning desk). I recommend watching them all.
  • the Borgias E08 - The French are coming with their cannons, run!
  • That midget on Game of Thrones is hilarious. He was in Elf. I have a really hard time keeping Game of Thrones straight with The Borgias. It's the same show.
  • I'm on Magnum PI Season 5.
  • On Parker Lewis Season 2. Can't find 3.
  • Found Season 1 and 2 of Parker Lewis Can't Lose. That show was the best. The quality is really bad and the music sure is bad now a days.
  • Caught up on Game of Thrones. It does get more interesting but has a lot of boring storylines going on. The initial attack at the start (episode 1) was dumb. If I had to pick between that show or Borgias, I'd pick Borgias as a more interesting show.
  • Watched Borgias EP 1-5. Not as good as the Tudors so far but somewhat interesting.
  • Finished Tudors. I enjoy and recommend it. The nudity is also a +. It was very entertaining. The main guy was a great actor and ran the whole show.
  • I'm on to Magnum PI. On Season 3. That show is the best.
  • Game of Thrones. I made it through episode 1. I'm starting to feel about it like I do about Harry Potter.
  • Started the killing but I'm not terribly interested. I watched the first two.
  • I only watched 1/2 of it but that Game of Thrones was boring as f. I didn't read the books. It's sad if you need books to make a show not suck.
  • Finished Rome Season 2 (for 3rd time haha)
  • New Spartacus (GODS of the Arena) (or not really new). That show is so funny, they keep cutting between sex scenes and fighting at the same time. Out of control sex and gore. Violence Porn?
  • I've moved on to Sledge Hammer Season 1-2. Remember that?
  • I'm going to watch the Young Indiana Jones (by George Lucas), that show was great.
  • Going to start all season 1-8 of Magnum PI.
  • Working on watching all the Buck Rogers. I have that on DVD.
  • Finished watching all 11 seasons of Cheers. I think I'll skip Fraiser. I was never into that show. I don't like any of the characters.
  • I started Spin City but it seems so boring. I think I'd rather watch "Just Shoot Me" instead.
  • Watched ALL of the Battlestar Galaticas and movies.
  • Watched all of the ORIGINAL Battlestar Galaticas.
  • I liked American Restoration, a spinoff of Pawn Stars. I only found 4 episodes though.
  • Catching up on Pawn Stars. I'm almost done with Season 3.
  • I love Fringe. It blew the first 1/2 of the season then it started getting good once they told story.
  • I'm on season 9 of Cheers.
  • Up to date on Chuck. The show got a lot better in season 3 and 4. Awesome how they got Summer and some of theo ther guest stars. Brought to you by Subway. Adam Baldwin is the best! I was surprised to see he's 49. He's been doing stuff forever.
  • Up to season 8 of Cheers. Kinda boring but it eats up time.
  • Started Chuck. I'm not a huge fan.
  • Caught up with all Modern Family episodes. I totally recommend it.
  • I'm on season 4 of Cheers.
  • Remember Bossom Buddies? Tom Hanks dressing up in drag. That show was great. It's a little hard to watch in today's time but I watched both seasons.

  • Started Modern Family. It's pretty good. I'm almost done with Season 1. It had more laughs in one episode than the entire season of 30 Rock.
  • Watched all 5 seasons of Taxi. Great show! Totally still good.
  • On Season 3 of 11 of Cheers.
  • Watched all 5 Seasons of 30 Rock. The show sucks. Don't watch it.
  • Guess Caprica got canceled. No surprise. The shows that take forever to build up and get to the point always fail:
    Update on show

  • I'm up to Season 4 of Taxi. That show is the best. Maybe I'll watch all the Cheers next.
  • I've done 4 seasons of 30 Rock. It's so boring.
I've done 4 seasons of 30 Rock. It's original but the laughs are pretty rare. I was watching Taxi at the same time and it's 30 years old and has WAY more laughs (they later made Cheers). 30 Rock gets all sorts of awards and stuff and it seems like it's what the marketing people think should be funny but isn't actually funny.

  • I'm so bored. I started watching 30 Rock. And I'm trying to start Chuck.
  • Here's a new recommended show, it's the Incredibles in Real Life. The dad is Vic from The Shield and the mom is Dexter's wife. It appears to be family friendly too. No Ordinary Family - UP TO EPISODE 6!

    Recently started/upcoming:

Falling Skies - currently on season 4, episode 4
Ray Donovan - season 2 starts tonight
Hell on Wheels - season 4 starts Aug 2
Boardwalk Empire - season 5 starts Sept 7
The Blacklist - season 2 starts Sept 22

That's pretty much it for now, most of the usual shows discussed here won't start back up until late September/October. If you're looking for something new to watch, try these (all rated at least 8/10 on IMDB if that makes a difference to anyone):

Banshee - Cinemax show about a guy pretending to be the sheriff of a small town. Holy jebus is this good. Warning, show gets plenty violent.
Black Sails - Starz show about pirates!
Da Vinci's Demons - Starz show about Da Vinci during his younger years.
Hannibal - NBC show about Hannibal Lecter. Been meaning to watch this for awhile now, I've heard great things
Halt and Catch Fire - AMC show about a fictional take on how the personal computer was realized. Sounds boring but the characters really draw you in.
Last Week Tonight - HBO show with John Oliver. The format is similar to Daily Show but it's much much better as he only focuses on 1 major topic and 2-3 minor ones allowing for more thoughtful commentary/analysis. Every episode so far has been amazing.
Penny Dreadful - Showtime show about the supernatural. Reminds me kind of of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Rectify - SundanceTV show about a guy who gets released from death row on a technicality
Silicon Valley - HBO show about guys starting their own start-up. Funny.
The Americans - FX show about Russian spies in the US during the cold war era.
Turn - AMC show about spies during the American Revolution
Tyrant - FX show a about a guy living with his family in exile in the US, returns home where his ruling family preside over a war-torn middle eastern country. Never seen anything quite like it. Great show.
Vikings - Show about Vikings. Go Ragnar!

    Honourable mentions:

Continuum - Showcase show about time travel
Dominion - Takes place 25 years after the movie Legion. Pretty good so far.
Helix - Good sci-fi show about virus taking over a science facility in the Arctic
The 100 - Seems a little ridiculous but I can't stop watching it.
The Last Ship - Good action show about an epidemic that is wiping out the entire world.

Upcoming new shows that I think show promise:

The Strain - FX show by Guillermo del Toro starting tonight
The Knick - Cinemax show by Steven Soderbergh, starts Aug 8
Legends - TNT show about an undercover FBI guy, starts Aug 13

Yes, I watch a lot of tv :)

How do you have enough time to work, watch this much TV, play games, and have time for your family?

I had to cut out watching TV completely.

    Whaaat?

Caprica is an EXCELLENT show! It`s a parable of a potential downfall of our society! Decent acting too. Great prelude to BSG.

Stargate Universe... yeah, it`s kinda sucky. But that senator`s daughter is kinda hot. Plus they have great a score/music. I`ve found a few of my new favorite bands through that show.

Yeah man, I -barely- have time just for work and video games, with a little social-ness on the side.

HBO started a new drama called "Boardwalk Empire". It takes place during the prohibition era and has some heavyweights behind the show (eg. writer from Sopranos, Martin Scorsese). It shows a lot of promise. I watched the first episode and I think it's another winner for HBO.

Really annoyed by all of the Cop/Legal new shows this season. Hawaii Five-O, Detroit 1-8-7, they are all the same. Lack of real quality shows from these networks. Glee is GAY.

    "what`s that? I don`t get it, what`s she doing?"

"oh! shit, man! That`s marky... that`s fear man!"

"oh! You mean marky mark when he does that thing?"

"yeah, and then he calls the cops and gets that other guy in trouble."

    "yeah, that william peter guy..."

"yeah, the CSI guy takes the fall."

    "oh, she`s serious man...."

"yeah, lets get out of here. She`s not messing around."

I laughed for a good 30 seconds and i never laugh at sitcoms.

The Dexter premier was kinda blah. If the entire season is going to just be about him covering his trail for the Trinity killing then the season is going to suck. The formula in the past has always been: He finds a kindred spirit, befriends them, and then in the last show he offs them all while trying to maintain a normal looking lifestyle with Rita, her family, and his job. This show was like the "Rita montage" and the foreshadowing of an impending investigation which is going to really cramp his style.

Smallville did start out weird. I was confused enough I stopped at the credits and went back and watched the last two episodes of last season. I think I got it after that, but it really was all over the place and hard to follow. I spent a lot of the episode going "huh..what the hell is going on?....OOhhh, now I get it...that is lame." I still like the show though and hope it ramps up moving forward.

I am still on the fence about "An Ordinary Family", I liked "The Incredibles" so hopefully the show will be good. I like the actors for the mom and dad so there is a chance.

Shit My Dad Says was kind of a dissapointment, the twitter feed was great, but the show...felt like a bunch of one liners crammed in with a shoehorn. I like shatner enough that I will watch a few more though and see if it gets smoother.

The last two South Park's were awesome. First the Jersey Shore spoof (turning Snooki into Snarf from Thundercats was genius) and then this week's episode based from the movie Inception.

Anyone check out Tower Prep from cartoon network? It sounds like a cross between teenage super heroes and harry potter. I don't know if it will be good or lame yet, but it is being made by Paul Dini the guy behind the batman animated series and justice league cartoons so it has a chance.

Anyone see this new cartoon, Adventure Time? I was putzing around on a lazy Sunday and, being a child at heart, I saw a fat little dog and bright colors so I watched it for a few.

I was rolling after a few scenes. The dog is voiced by John Di Maggio, the guy who does Bender from Futurama, Marcus Fenix from Gears of War, and countless other voice work. It's REALLY WEIRD and surreal but something about it makes my laugh.

My sis recommended Modern Family and after just one episode I was hooked. It's only in its second season so it won't take long to get caught up. The most recognizable person from the show is Ed O'Neill (Al Bundy). Check it out, it's consistently funny.

I watched Terriers and after not giving it much hope after the first 2 episodes found myself addicted to it the rest of the season.

Same guy who created the Shield, producer/writer I think. Same attitude, less serious.

30 Rock isn`t meant to be your typical slap stick laugh track comedy show. In fact it doesn`t even use a laugh track (of dead people) to prompt the viewer when to laugh. It is a different brand of `comedy`, in line with Arrested Development.

I don`t know why I don`t like Modern Family. Some of it has some funny things, but I think it is the commentary aspect I don`t like. I didn`t like the Office either, and it was the same kind of show.

I agree with Ykant on the Modern Family gay thing.

The two gay dudes on Modern Family are really well done and absolutely hilarious.

Then I watch a show like Glee and get pissed off within 5 minutes of the episode after being hit by a dozen horribly uncreative homo and "homophobe" stereotypes in a row, all while watching the gay kid wear pink boas and flit around like a fairy. How is that not offensive to gays?

Chuck didn`t really get good until the intersect allowed him to do kung-fu/etc.

I started watching this Brittish show called "Doc Martin". I find it hilarious, although it is more of a drama. It is all about a doctor who has some serious social issues - but it is funny because he tells it like it is.

    "Is she going to die?"

    "Yep."

I have been liking young justice so far. It is very much like the teen titans where they get all the main superhero's sidekicks together as a team.

I have always liked Robin as a character so that is cool. I haven't decided if they are ramping up the teen drama BS too much for my taste or not...I still look forward to the new episodes so they are walking the right side of the line for me so far.

Naruto is out of the filler finally (starting with ep 197)!

I have been really enjoying the series Castle as well. It is a fun show and I recommend watching them in order...it is not overly serialized but they do have developing characters and some background story arcs.

I am glad you mentioned Buck Rogers, that is a blast from the past! I remember Sledgehammer as being pretty over the top, but funny.

You might want to give Firefly a watch then check out the movie Serenity. It was only one season but when combined with the movie it makes a pretty decent show.

You mentioning Fringe makes me think about X-Files...though I am not sure I recommend it...I liked some of it but remember getting bored towards the end of the show.

I am wondering what other old shows are worth a second look. Lost in space, giligan's island, happy days, charlies angels, ect.

Its more post apocalyptic than zombie so if you like that genre check it out. i got the 1st season on dvd and its well worth buying. even tho its on tv its gory. very gory. But the visuals are amazing and the character plot is the best you will see on tv. Anyone else watch this series?

Breaking Bad is great TV. I started with the 4th season and then watched all the rest.

Just finished Naruto Shippuden thru 205...Look like its going to get awesome again.

Going to start Bleach tonight BUT I`d recommend HunterXHunter on AnimeFreak for a refreshing show thats Narutoesque.

The main character in HunterXHunter uses a fishing pole as his main weapon....Excellent Manga too but I know you dont read Manga much.

Oh and pawn stars was found to be scripted. In one episode a guy walks in with an old 1700`s gun and trades it for a rare guitar. it came out that the guitar was on display for them and was not for sale. it was confirmed on the website that still has the guitar. so all these guys on that show are actors. how lame

For those interested, here's a few new shows I came across that look promising...

    Show: Camelot
    Network: Starz (Also made: Spartacus)
When: LINK (second episode just aired, plays on Fridays)
Thoughts: I'm a sucker for all things medieval so my level of expectation is generally lower than for other shows. That said I've enjoyed the show so far and their interpretation of Arthur, Merlin etc. Warning...the show contains nudity.

    Show: The Killing
Network: AMC (Also made: Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Walking Dead)
When: LINK (starts Sunday April 3)
Thoughts: Saw the trailer for the show on AMC's website and it looks promising. Frankly given the network's track record it'll be a surprise if the show isn't a hit.

    Show: The Borgias
Network: Showtime (Also made: Dexter, The Tudors)
When: LINK (starts Sunday April 3)
Thoughts: If the show is in any way similar to Mario Puzo's "The Family" than I'm going to love it.

    Show: Game of Thrones
    Network: HBO
When: LINK (starts Sunday April 17)
Thoughts: HBO's making it, 'nuff said.

game of thrones is great... when you`re wired on coffee and watch it three times back to back and on the third viewing every time they say a line that you STILL can`t understand you rewind and play the line over again until you figure out what the actors said... OHHH!!! that makes sense.

Nebu, stick with Game of Thrones. I`ve read the books and the story really picks up around the time of episodes 2/3. Once it gets going, it is by far the best fantasy story out there. Tons of scheming, backstabbing, wars, sex, supernatural stuff, etc. Give it a shot and you`ll be glad you did.

A Song of Ice and Fire has begun as one of the greatest fantasy stories ever told (it`s still not finished). Game of Thrones is just the first book. When reading these I`d say it didn`t really start to hit home for me as being interesting until about half way into GoT - a lot of Game of Thrones is setup for what is to happen in the upcoming books (which will be additional seasons on HBO if HBO continues to go on with it). Books 2-4 (Clash of Kings, Storm of Swords, Feast for Crows) are awesome.

I am also constantly on the hunt for new shows to watch. I just found a cool link at Geekologie that shows a sci-fi tv series flowchart. It has some good suggestions on it so I half trust it's taste. It reminded me that I should re-watch Avatar: The Last Air Bender (TV show Notthe movie), The Tick, or Quantum Leap. I also might want to check out Warehouse 13, The Dresden Files, Being Human, or the more recent Dr Who's that everyone keeps saying is good.

For cop shows: Chicago Code (from The Shield creator) was not renewed for another season.

Blue Bloods (starring Magnum PI) was renewed. It`s ok but the episodes follow too much of a formula with them discussing everything at the dinner table. It`s just The Commish in the big city.

Game of Thrones played their first homo card in the last episode.

It's HBO - of course they played the homo card.

The thing is, in the book, that relationship is WAY WAY WAY more subtle. As in, he never writes them in the same room together. You just read gossip and innuendo about the supposed relationship.

    Re: gay GoT

Neither Renly or Loras are POV characters in the 1st book (nor 2-4th iirc) so there was no way for that scene to be in any of them unless there was a 3rd party to it that was a POV character. I didn`t think it was that subtle in the book that they were gay but apparently it was because I`ve ready many, many comments where people were shocked by their gayness.

"Game of Thrones is super exciting now. " - I`m glad you`ve finally seen the light.

    Re: gay GoT

Yeah, they also changed Renly in the TV series. In the book, he`s described as being essentially a young version of Robert. He also takes part in the tournament and generally comes across as more.. well.. rugged and chivalrous.

Keep in mind, he`s still gay in the books. This has nothing to do with his gayness. He`s just presented differently.

Yeah I meant I knew they were gay in the book and figured most people did, but many didn`t judging by comments on other sites.

And yes I agree, in the book they were both portrayed as much as knights/warriors as any of the others, they just happen to be gay and no scenes as explicit as that were ever depicted.

Nebu if you think it`s super exciting now wait until next season when things get even crazier.

Reading the books for the first time again after a decade without reading them shows just how little HBO does them.

However, the series is still the best HBO has released that I've ever seen....probably my favorite of all time if they carry them all the way through all 5 books.

GoT TV show is doing a pretty good job of following the books. Of course they will/have to change certain things around from the books to the TV show. And that is an okay thing.

If you enjoy the show 'at all', do yourself a favor and pickup the most fantastic fantasy novels.

Yeah GoT is rad. I never liked Sopranos, never saw Deadwood (I will not that HBO GO lets me watch it for free), Curb is good but Seinfeld is better, and Dream On was before I cared.

My favorite before GoT was Boardwalk Empire.

I don`t know if you`ve ever seen it, but the Hellsing TV series ia a lot of fun. I also recommend the OAV series, but with a few caveats: most of it is only available with fansubbing, the first few episodes aren`t that great, it`s quite a bit different stylistically than the TV series, and it`s just way too ridiculous at times. However, if you can get through the first few episodes, the OAV series opens up in a way that the TV series -wishes- it was able to, and the last few episodes have just been INSANELY FUN.

If you are looking for some time filler semi-interesting shows you might want to check out "Storage Wars" which is a show that follows some people around as they buy up storage lockers that are auctioned off for non-payment. The hook is seeing if they find anything in the lockers that can bring big bucks or if they overpaid and get nothing. It is more interesting than it sounds.

Another one that I am semi-checking out is "Swamp People". It is a show about the Louisiana Bayou and following the people who live in the swamp going to hunt alligators during the alligator hunting season. It is hard to define the appeal of this one, I am only a few episodes in so I don't know if it stays interesting. Still, so far it is holding my interest.

The 3rd episode of Thundercats came out. I don't think it was as good as the first one, it has some cool moments and some lame moments. I am still excited to see how it goes though.

I'm really digging Thundercats. Episode 3 and 4 were weak but the last few episodes have been awesome.

New season of Sons of Anarchy is off to a good start. The Rescue Me series finale was ok. I imagine the series finale of Entourage will be average at best. Breaking Bad is as solid as ever.

And then of course there's Jersey Shore. I know it's not nice to laugh at retarded people but dang, it's a guilty pleasure I can't get over.

You gotta watch Happy Endings (I think it's coming back soon? If not watch the first season, the gay guy is HILARIOUS.)

    Also Modern Family for sure.

The New Girl looks pretty good, saw the first episode of that one.

Big Bang Theory had a scene last night with a remote kissing device that had me laughing harder than any network sitcom EVER.

Some pretty damn good sitcoms all of a sudden. I think it's a reaction to the shitty reality shows of the law decade. Thank God.

Watched the first episode of the new season of Dexter, it was amazing. Much more funny than I anticipated.

Good to see them going back to the roots of the characters. The last two seasons kind of sucked but this one is starting very strong.

I am finding it tough to get motivated to check out all the new shows. I did catch a couple though.

I saw the first couple of episodes of "Revenge" and I don't totally hate it. It is basically the count of monte cristo but redone in the Hamptons in modern times. It is kinda girly, focusing on the relationships and whatnot, but I do like the revenge side of the show. I watched the first couple and am going to check out one more to see if the revenge stuff outweighs the lameness.

I am glad to hear Dexter was good, I am trying to hold off till it is officially released to try and minimize the pain of waiting for the next episode.

Alphas is a pretty good show so far as well. It is much like heroes where it deals with super powers. I am trying not to get too attached because in case it gets cancelled. I watched the first 7 or so episodes, they are up to like 11 or 12.

An Idiot Abroad season 2 is airing as well. I like the show but am not loving it, it just doesn't feel like it is living up the the potential. I only watched the first couple of episodes though so there is plenty of potential still.

The only new shows I'm keeping tabs on are Fox's "Terra Nova" (A family travels back in time from a future where the Earth is dying to a new settlement in the time of the dinosaurs) and Showtime's "Homeland" (A CIA agent haunted by her failure to anticipate 9/11, worries that a rescued marine POW may be planning a terrorist act). Everything else that's come out this fall does nothing for me.

FYI, South Park starts up again this Wednesday (5th).

Have you been keeping up with the new Thundercats cartoon? It is pretty good past the 1st episode. There are only 8 or so right now.

I`ve been watching some brittish shows lately - Doc Martin, Merlin, and As time goes by. They are sometimes good, sometimes bad (like any show I guess)

Many of the shows I'd normally recommend, you already watch (Breaking Bad, Dexter, Parks & Rec, Fringe, etc.)

Do you still watch Survivor? They're up to season 23 which is insane to think about, but I still enjoy it. I also watch some of the other competitive reality TV such as The Amazing Race and Hell's Kitchen.

Also, House perhaps? I watch that mostly because he's an interesting character. The medical mysteries I don't care as much about.

I really liked the third season of Castle and the fourth is still interesting to me so far. I am hooked and would recommend checking it out.

The recent modern day Sherlock Holmes series from the BBC was surprisingly good and is available on netflix. Jeff's House comment reminded me of it. I recently learned that House was basically Sherlock Holmes as a medical doctor, which I can't believe I never noticed before.

I feel your pain though, I am finding it difficult to find good stuff to watch as well. I have been checking out the new TV shows but don't really love any of them. Charlies Angels is ok, nice "scenery" to distract from unrealistic plots. Ringer is kind of interesting too, though with even more of an unrealistic plot...you have to work hard to suspend your disbelief.

If you're looking for older shows, have you ever seen Spaced? It's from the same team that made Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. It started back in 1999 on British TV and had two seasons. Both are pretty great. You can definitely see the roots of Shaun of the Dead.. especially in one episode in particular.

Chuck was ok. It was actually kind of boring :(

    *SPOILERS***

There is probably going to be a movie or spin-off show. They completely left it open - Gen. Beckman told them to contact her and Chuck ends up with the intersect again.

I do like spartacus, the old movie version with kirk douglas is pretty good too. It has been at least 10 years since I saw it though, might need to re-watch it.

the animated show unsupervised is ok so far too, it is like a more "actual show" version of bevis and butthead.

The new show I am surprised I like is "Rob" with Rob Schneider, some hot chick, and Cheech Marin. It is has full on sitcom tropes but I enjoy it anyway.

Leonard and Penny are impossible because of his personality. If he had a bit of confidence he would be like many a guy I have met in school that was totally nerdy and yet had a super hot girlfriend/wife.

Game of Thrones starts next Sunday. I know Nebu isn't big on it, but some of you might be.

Honestly, besides that and South Park, I don't really care about anything on TV. Even South Park is becoming a lower priority. They haven't had the best couple seasons....

New show on Fox called "Touch". Stars Kiefer Sutherland where he's the father of a boy who's mute and autistic and can predict the future by recognizing patterns in numbers and what appear to be unrelated events. I'm liking it so far.

Oh and GoT season 2 premier was great, can't wait to see how the rest of the season plays out.

The last couple episodes of South Park have been pretty terrible. The Ziplining one was probably the worst episode I've ever seen.

The Bully South park episode was great. Especially when that hollywood executive goes into the bathroom and Jesus is in there waiting for him and tells him about hell. Then calls him a cry baby. lol

That one was okay. It seemed like they used a bit of filler, which is a problem lately. I actually liked the QVC/jewelry one, and I thought the Jewpacabra one was one of the better ones they've done in a little while.

However, the Ziplining one was just God awful.

I've just watched the first four episodes of Newsroom back-to-back and I'm thoroughly hooked. A very smart and thought provoking show. Had no clue it was even on until Nebu mentioned it. Another solid win for HBO.

Interesting. I watched the whole season and while it was a bit preachy and arguably sanctimonious at times, I really enjoyed the interplay between the characters and the story lines in general. Seeing Sam Waterston on TV again was great, I loved watching him on Law & Order.

Newsroom - My wife and I watched two episodes and quit. I know Aaron Sorkin gets all sorts of kudos for his sharp and intelligent dialogue, but I disagree. I think a lot of the characters speak in overly wordy monologues that are completely unrealistic. I mean, no one speaks the way a number of characters in Newsroom speak. I felt like I was watching a form of propaganda, and I was annoyed by it. While the dialogue was interesting, it required almost the same suspension of disbelief as a science fiction or monster movie. I didn't feel I was watching normal humans interact.

Dexter- I felt Season 4 was the best season, and that Season 5 and (particularly) Season 6 had taken the series downhill. Dexter had jumped the shark a few too many times. This season, however, is showing some real promise. I'm hooked again.

Walking Dead - I'm hoping they didn't use it all up in the first episode of Season 3. I actually liked Season 2, but I think most people were getting bored. The series needed some reinvigoration to ensure a Season 4 and/or Season 5. The premiere of Season 3 definitely delivered.

Homeland - Tried four episodes, but didn't care for it. Maybe having Damien Thorn (Dick Winters from Band of Brothers) playing an ambiguous character killed it for me. I dunno, I just wasn't compelled to continue watching. I don't get all the awards it won. Thorn's wife in the show was pretty hot though!

Homeland - Have to agree with you here Blue, I really don't get the praise the show has received. There's nothing really there to write home about. About Damian's wife on the show...that's Morena Baccarin of Firefly/SG-1/V remake fame.

Some other shows that are back..
    * Boardwalk Empire is recently aired episode 5 of the 3rd season. Still a solid show.
    * Big Bang Theory is back but I'll be honest, the new season so far has done nothing for me.
    * Bering Sea Gold: Under the Ice recently aired. From what I can tell, it's pretty much season 2 of the original show.
    * It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia started last week and I think it started strong.
    * For those into American Horror Story, the second season started last night. Haven't seen it yet but if it's half as good as the first season I'm sure it'll be worth it.
    * South Park is back (2nd half of the 16th season started late September)
    * Duck Dynasty - 2nd season of red neck hilarity ensues. Those guys crack me up.
    * The Office - started off ok but man they really need to end the series.
    * Family Guy is back if you like that show.
    * Started watching Scandal which is now in season 2. Hard to describe but I'm liking it so far.

As for new shows, I'll admit to taking a guilty pleasure in watching Arrow (only because I liked Smallville and I'm interested in their interpretation of Green Arrow). Also seen a few episodes of Last Resort - nothing spectacular, but I'll keep watching it for now. Nothing else from the new fall line up really stood out for me.

If you're into westerns, there was a recent 3-part mini-series "Hatfields & McCoys" with Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton - very well done if you ask me.

    Upcoming Returning Shows...
    * Spartacus (Season 3) - January 2013
    * Suits (continuing Season 2) - January 2013
    * Archer (Season 4) - January 19, 2013

I got totally hooked on Xena when it was originally airing, probably in the 2nd or 3rd season. The channel showing it did a weekend long marathon and happened to bunch up a group of Calisto episodes. I couldn't look away, it was one of those "come for the metal clad boobs, stay for the cool show" experiences. I still love Hudson Liek (calisto) and wish we saw her in more stuff.

I am cautiously optimistic about the new green arrow show "arrow" as well. I watched the first two episodes and liked it but it really could go either way still.

I didn't look back through the comments to see if someone else mentioned it, but there is a Walking Dead game that you can get on Steam. It's sort of a point and click adventure type game or interactive story. It's very good, lots of hard decisions and themes you see on the show. It's done in episodes and the last one was recently released. If you like the show I highly recommend it.

New show out that looks promising. It's called "The Americans" and it airs on FX. From the wiki description "It is a 1980s Cold War drama about a group of Soviet KGB officers who have been trained to impersonate American citizens, so that each one can become a sleeper agent, with a cover which may even include an unwitting spouse and family.".

If you're into spies, espionage and the cold war era you should check it out.

Game of Thrones - March 31 (Season 3)
Arrested Development - May 4 (all 14 episodes of season 4 will be released on the same day exclusively via Netflix)
    Dexter - June 30 (Season 8)
Breaking Bad - July 14 (last 1/2 of season 5)
Sons of Anarchy - Sept 11 (Season 5)
    South Park - Sept 25 (Season 17)

oh, and season 3 of Duck Dynasty just started

Edit: For those interested in political dramas, I'd recommend House of Cards (only on Netflix - INFO). Kevin Spacey did a great job with that role.

If you`re currently watching Game of Thrones; In season 1 Ned Stark sends men to capture The Mountain (The Hounds brother) for sacking the Riverlands which is Catelyn Starks` homeland. These men are The Brotherhood in season 3.

And the guy torturing Theon Greyjoy is Lord Boltons(one of Ned Starks bannerman) bastard.

That's probably the one sub-plot that had my head scratching. It's interesting the parts they choose to include/exclude in the TV show. I'm about 60% through book 4 in the series and no where up to that point is Theon's storyline addressed after the events of his...how shall we say, extracurricular activities in Winterfell. If memory serves, his name is Ramsey Bolton.

Have to say though, they're doing a damn good job keeping the essence of the books in tact.

One new show you might want to check out is Hannibal. It is a bit gory at times for my taste, but I do enjoy watching the FBI guys interact with him knowing he is eventually going to be found to be the cannibal we know from silence of the lambs. I have no idea how it is performing and if it will get renewed or not, but it is up to the 8th episode so far.

The SHIELD (as in avengers, not bad cops) TV show trailer is out too, not sure when it starts airing though. I have faith in Joss so expect it to be good. It actually reminds me of the "Ultimate Spider-man" cartoon that is currently in it's second season. That is a fairly good show for a cartoon as well.

I am sure you have heard of Defiance as well. That is the SyFy show that has an MMOFPS set in the same universe with the same characters knocking about. I am very much on the fence about the show. It has a super high potential to go cheesy-lame...but there is a chance of it going the other way too.

The final show I have discovered recently is Vice on HBO. It is a news/documentary show that goes to interesting or dangerous places and is quite compelling. I am glad that HBO tossed them some funding since I tend to feel like most news isn't worth watching.

If you're watching Arrow, I would highly suggest giving The Tomorrow People a try. Sadly, the first two episodes are already in the bucket which seem to be a major setup for the story, but the series is panning out to be pretty damn good if they don't drop the ball.

I should admit, I was partial to the version that ran on Nickalodan back in the 90s and though all the characters (so far) are different, its pacing out to be a nice remake.

For those who don't know, this actually isn't the first remake, or even the second or even the third --- this is he forth remake of the series. None of the previous remakes feature characters or main plot elements that carry over. The general plot remains about the same in each series (as far as I know, as I've only read up on the 70s TV series and the Radio TV Series, the previous versions).

I have been loving "Comedy Underground With Dave Attell" on comedy central lately. It is fully uncensored so there is swearing and nsfw topics, I think it airs at late night only to get away with that. It is a half hour show with 2-3 comedians. Inside Amy Schumer has been pretty funny too.
