The gas lines are so insane now. The Costco gas is 20 cents cheaper. So if you do 20 gallons that's $4. The line at Costco is so bad there's lines going both directions even into the gas station.
Well this guy ahead of us decided to switch to a line to the right and went sideways and blocked both lines. He shoulda saw there was no room and just stayed in his line. Anyway I didn't have a problem with that because I knew his line would move forward and he'd even the car out and clear up our line.
His line moved forward, he got out of our way. I started to go and this lady in the line left of me started to pull ahead of me. She was trying to hop lines in front of me. I layed down the air horn, and she heard it but decided to go anyway and cut in my line. Well my chick went over and said something to her. She refused to acknowledge she cut in line and claimed she didn't see us. It's hard to not fucking see someone that's hitting you with a AIR HORN to your FACE. I mean that thing is so loud people pull over. And I was honking when I saw her start to cut lines well before she even did it. So she got ahead. The only way I could have stopped it was to play a game of chicken with her SUV and she would have hit me. It's not worth damaging your car over 1 spot in line.
Finally I got a chance to go around her at the pump and take the second one. I got out and wanted to flip her off or cuss her out. Instead I said "you must be pretty proud of yourself cutting in line and taking advantage when you see an opening. You're a great person." She didn't say anything. She was an older lady 50-60+ with a bluetooth in her ear, a stupid ass dog ridding in her lap. And a 20+ year old SVU. Fing whore man.
She saw an opportunity to cut in line and did it and didn't feel one bit bad about it. She felt good cuz she got ahead and didn't give a shit if it was at another's expense. I hope we at least shook her up yelling at her and she gets hers someday from someone else.
I get a feeling that the $4 you save are not worth the nerves you expend. Might as well fuel up at Chevron or something. :)

1. As undreaming said, it's probably not worth the $4.00 savings. I mean, how much extra time are you waiting, and what do you value your own time at?
2. How long before you go all Michael Douglas ala "Falling Down"?

The Costco gas station near my house is crazy, the lines are so long it`s not even worth it.
Just the fact that she didn`t say anything shows that she knew what she was doing was fucked up. It`s good thing you called her out though, people like that get what`s coming to them soon enough.

| I am seriously considering buying myself one of those punching mannequins and setting it up in the spare room. Just for punching the anger away.
It'd be great! It's a workout (i.e. releases endorphins) and I wouldn't want to break my expensive keyboard after losing 5 games in a row to roach rushes in SCII. |

Haha that`s so true. I used to go ape shit on people if I saw them doing something rude/inconsiderate/driving like an asshat. Ever since my daughter was born I`ve calmed down a lot. There`s been a couple times when I wanted to get crazy on someone, but I had my daughter with me so I just let it ride. |

| Someone pulled a similar dick move on me last summer while in my Shelby and when I layed on my horn they ignored me exactly the same way....so I smashed my Cookies and Cream shake against their driver-side window.
You're lucky you didn't get shot or arrested for that little move. I'm not kidding. Retaliation begets retaliation.
Linked below is a story I've been thinking about in relation to your reply. It's about a 50 year old who worked as an engineer in a firm in Philadelphia. One day, he shot a 31 year old woman during the rush hour commute to work. Basically she cut him off, and he had his "Falling Down" moment. A few weeks after he got caught, he killed himself when he realized he was going to prison. It turns out he had taken shots at other people who pissed him off in the past. You never know who you are dealing with..

| yeah bluefalcon is right, its not worth it to do dumb stuff, b/c you never know if the other person is absolutely crazy or not.
I try to justify not doing anything by saying that I feel sorry for the person. they probably get abused by their wife/husband at home so they take out their aggression this way. |

| Shooting someone is not the same as throwing a milkshake against their drivers-side window.
Considering said person could have killed me by forcing me into oncoming traffic he's lucky he got away with just a milkshake.
If you for a minute think someone is supposed to sit back and let someone get away with reckless op in traffic and just hope a cop is around to catch it then you've spent too much time in the academy and need to learn there is more than black and white in the world.
In line at a gas station is one thing, but on the road in traffic is another thing completely. |

| charkoth we`re not saying you`re shooting him, we`re say he could have been crazy and shot you. anyhow you didn`t give the disclaimer that he forced you into oncoming traffic. that`s not a similar dick move compared to cutting someone off at the gas station. |

Think about it!
(Interesting Freudian reference to a fantastic movie)
If you idle the car for about 20-30 minutes, you'll burn off about a gallon of gas. It's like the person that drives an extra 5 miles to save 10 cents on a gallon. |

| If the person you threw that milkshake at had called the cops you`d have a battery charge on your hands to answer to, no matter how shitty of a driver that other person was.
Don`t get me wrong, some people deserve it and I`ve done similar things like that myself in the past, but the fact of the matter is, you just don`t know who`s out there these days. It`d really suck to die because you got into a confrontation with someone over driving. |

As others have pointed out, I wasn't equating your throwing a milkshake with shooting at someone. I was making the suggestion that you don't know who you are dealing with, and someone might shoot at you for throwing a milkshake on their car. The guy in the story I linked shot at two different people for lesser offenses. Didn't you ever see the Dave Chapelle sketch, "When Keepin it Real Goes Wrong"?
If you for a minute think someone is supposed to sit back and let someone get away with reckless op in traffic and just hope a cop is around to catch it then you've spent too much time in the academy and need to learn there is more than black and white in the world.
See above. I think if someone is a jackass, just get far away from them. They will eventually get theirs. These things have a karmic way of working themselves out. You just might not have the personal satisfaction of being there when justice gets administered.
Charkoth I believe you`re missing the point that BlueFalcon and Akebono were attempting to make, while also helping make their point. Amazing work.
That's pretty funny Noss, nice summary.

| Didn't want to get into the specifics of my particular situation other than the douchebag driver pulling the same type of maneuver and reacting exactly the same to my horn as Nebu's story. He just completely ignored looking at me or acting like he didn't hear me. Nebu confronted his person verbally and I confronted my person physically. Either response in theory could have got us shot but in reality people get shot for stupid things every day, changing the way you act out of fear of "getting shot" is a lesson in futility IMO.
