| You also need to add that the insurance carriers are after profit and do enjoy trying not to pay claims. Business first, CSR after, maybe if you are lucky. At least with some carriers. United Healthcare is a perfect example of this nonsense.
Our deductible was $2400 last year - it fraking doubled to $5,000 this year because our boss is trying to keep us covered. That was the only thing he could do - have half our arse handed over. It's pathetic. |

| I havent had to go to the doctor in over 14 years. i stay away from all meds, reduce my high fructose corn syrup intake as best as i can and drink plenty of pure water. We have an amazing immune system. all these drugs by the pharmacidists destroy and weaken your immune system, remember doctors, medical industry its a business, they make 6 or 7 figures a year. Get plenty of sun too it creates vitamin D But the best advice is from this doctor right here. watch it Proper PH is the cure all
coffee has a acid level of 2.0 battery acid has an acid level of 1.0 if you drink coffee everyday your body is very very acidic and prone to disease. Learn the real easy steps to staying disease free and you will never have to see these snake oil salesman ever again. A doctor should only be for broken bones and bodily injurys. Stay away from these overpaid upper class pill pimps
by the way have you noticed the medical symbol is a snake around a pole? Just what you wanna see when your being rushed thru those doors huh? |

So i figure this guy got in just to steal land here in tenn and give it to his corporate cronys. But anyways This is astounding him fighting the obama health laws. Glad i live here |

| There should be a fat tax. Yeah I said it.
America is getting fat and apparently almost 30% of our healthcare is based on caring for them. They don't take care of themselves and let everyone foot the bill.
How would it be applied? Through your company health insurance. Company has to pay more for the employees who weigh more. Company of course would pass it onto their employee.
There was an Wsj article about japan doing something similar based on waistlines. I think it would work wonders here, even if people cried discrimination. I don't believe in discriminating people based on things out of their control (race, sex, handicap) but fully support discriminating people for their bad choices.

| Regarding insurance industry profits: regardless of how low the profits are, cost of insurance would be cheaper if there would be no profit at all.
I also agree on higher taxation for unhealthy lifestyles. I would also wholeheartedly support taxes on unhealthy foods. If a drink`s top two ingredients are water and an added simple carb (i.e. a soda), for example, impose a 200% tax. Use the proceeds to directly subsidize healthy foods like fruits and vegetables.
They should also legalize weed. Everyone, who wants to, smokes it anyways, why not create a whole new legal industry and tax revenue stream? Not to mention take away a major income source of many criminal organizations and actually use all those law enforcement officers involved in the war on weed to actually do things that matter, like fight gang violence. |

| I was involved in the shopping of our corporate rates this year and I'd like to point out the three main reasons for the massive increases in Health Care this past year:
Removal of Lifetime Limits, Removal of denying coverage due to "pre-existing conditions", and Insurance companies must now cover "Children" living with their parents until Age 26.
Beyond that the amount of paperwork and regulation was further increased, the cost of which was passed along to us all.
Just like his attempt "Fix" credit cards for people who couldnt afford them he just screwed everyone over Health Care like he did on credit cards. The poorest people were hurt the most.
Of course it's hard to push a Government run Healthcare system when people can afford it so why not jack the prices up even further?
And RRP...you're a friking Loon. Coffee does NOT have a PH level of 2, it has a PH in the 5 range with is over 1000 times less acidic than a PH of 2. |

| I hate to say it but this is more of a change from Activision and HR then it is from the Obama administration. They`ve been reducing employee benefits for a while now, especially back in late 2009 and early 2010.
Thankfully all the health care BS from Obamacare is currently spiraling in limbo which, btw, the republicans really need to follow up on and finish. The federal courts gave their mandates and congress is just sitting on it. The thing needs to die, not be stuck in limbo. |

| "fat tax"? really? im sure thats on the way. high fructose corn syrup is the main culprit for american obesity. Remember folks they have to make people sick to profit. the govt and the big health insurance companys are best buddys. The health insurance companys literally wrote the new healthcare laws forcing you to buy insurance. Imagine if burger king had a powerful lobby in washington and a new law says "only the whopper can be sold as a burger" i bet you`de still say "SHUT up rrp burger king didnt enforce that its a conspiracy!"
High fructose corn syrup is unnatural sweetener..just cuz it has "corn" in its name you think its safe huh? your liver cant break it down naturally so it immediately converts it into triglycerides and fat hfcs is poison
so they have their pretext for a fat tax. Get fat little guinie pigs! you are a cash register remember? you suckers. Get fat, high triglycerides and good morning america will just say its because "you eat too much" not telling you chemically its because of the poison designed to get you fat.
This is why you are being taken to the cleaners and losing all your livlihood because you are a sucker and the vampires know it so offer your cash filled pulsating vein to them cuz they will suck it dry! |

| RRP your writing reads like you`re in middle school. "high fructose corn syrup is the main culprit for american obesity" Actually no, the main culprit would be their lack of exercise.
"your liver cant break it down naturally so it immediately converts" Wait my liver can`t break it down but it can convert it? Isn`t converting what breaking down is? |

| I agree with Deuce about bad diet being the major contributor to obesity issues. There was a study I vaguely remember about becoming overweight leading to less physical activity rather than the other way around.
There`s no mystery about what makes up a good diet but even educated people are falling for every `fad` diet that comes along. Also all the red herrings like "HFCS is poison" or "processed is poison" or "chemically sounding ingredients are poison." All these boogey man foods make people just try and cut out one or two things rather than just looking at their overall diet.
The nutritional info on foods is pretty much all you need to make the right choices (unless you have some food allergies to specific ingredients).
For most people I`d wager that they could lose weight and/or have a healthy diet by simply
- cutting back on overall calories.
- don`t eat so much sugar. (helps with overall calories)
- don`t eat so much saturated/trans fats. (helps again with overall calories)
- don`t eat so much salt.
- follow the old school `food pyramid` which would lead to a diet of mostly fruits and vegetables and the proper amounts of grains, dairy and meats. |

| @DeuceOfSpades
It drives me nuts when the FDA tries to push this concept of 2000 calories a day.
Multiple sources (particularly the university of Flordia) has demonstrated that 2000 calories a day would make you rather sickly, but worse yet, if you have any sort of muscle tone, it would practically evaporate in a month if you only ate 2000 calories a day. It`s not realistic.
That being said, a lot of people`s caloric intake is really out of whack. Its really not out of the question for an American to consume over 6000 calories a day and we`d be naive to sit here and say that DOESN`T happen. All you`d need to do is get breakfast from McDonalds, get lunch from Burger King and then go out to dinner at Denny`s and you`ve probably hit 6000 calories if not more (not to mention spent $24 dollars in one day which even in So Cal could feed you for the better part of a week if you made your own food).
Unless you`re Jay Culter or another body builder / athlete / heavy manual labor job you DONT need that much. |
