| it's not that surprising, no matter how you personally feel about it there's no denying that public opinion is changing as the older generations die off and younger people become the average.
it wasn't that long ago that interracial marriage was illegal, might be interesting to see what kind of companies (if any) did the same type of thing 50-60 years ago regarding that or other parts of the civil rights movement |

| mocrosoft headed up by bill gates whos father started planned parenthood to kill babys, this family loves eugenics. Microsoft is just putting gayness on a pedestal and pushing marriage because gays dont reproduce. And most likely bill gates is a closet homo. |

| yeah, animals are not capable of the abstract and complex thought processes required in creating and agreeing to contracts like any adult human that isn`t mentally disabled is capable. it isn`t the same thing at all. |

| I can't agree with killer.
I used to think completely different before I hit about 30. After that, I became much more conservative. In my younger days, I couldn't fathom how the older generation thought about many things, and now I find I agree with many positions I found abhorrent in my youth. |

| If 2 consenting adults want to do something that doesn`t affect you whatsoever, let them do it. What`s more fucked up is that dude from Lost marrying that 16 year old. |

| I just don't think it's Microsoft's place to make a stand on this topic. It reeks of grandstanding and exploiting their influence within the state.
I remember there was a Microsoft employee who went from dude to dude'ette. It was the first time in America an executive had been allowed to keep her/his/their position after a change like that.
I suspect it has a lot to do with the fact many of their employees are probably in same-sex households-but not getting any of the state benefits of their hetero counterparts. Microsoft can only do so much as a private company.

Of course this is what's going on. There is a huge demand for skilled technical employees and executives (some of whom happen to be gay), and Microsoft wants to give itself every advantage it can to keep those employees from going to its competitors in more liberal areas (Apple, Google, etc).
At a company like Microsoft, a couple of key hires in the executive positions (some of whom may happen to be gay) can make all the difference between being #1 in an industry and not even charting. |
