| I've linked this site before, but it bears a repeat. This dude wrote a pretty good article on Arafat (and he's very well spoken about politics and the war on terror):
Link
Arafat liked to claim that he invented the tool of hijacking. He was responsible for the 1972 slaughter at the Munich Olympics. He is responsible for the stalemate between the Israelies and Palestineans. One might argue that if the Arab-Israeli conflict were settled, there would have been no 9/11. Screw that turd, and the French for giving him quarter. I'm not religous, but I am glad this matter is in God's hands now.

| It`s too bad that Castro didn`t break a few more bones (or at least the right ones) when he did that faceplant a couple weeks ago.
Both him and Arafat have lived alot longer than any reasonable definition of justice would allow. |

| Arafat is a total POS. Clinton and the Israelies tried to work with him. He wouldn`t accept anything. The only think that would make him happy would be the distruction of Israel. |

| This is an extremely important moment in history.
If one of the Palestinian political forces manages to take his position, we may see the start of a new series of, potentially successful, peace talks. Keep in mind, however, that their power would be a little weak, thus making their ability to make concessions very weak.
However, if Hamas or another group takes over... oh man... we ain`t seen nothin` yet. |

| oh it`s been great, all right, Saddam dead, his sons, Arafat, the US bogged down in a war that`s headed nowhere quick, still losing money and lives in occupying Afghanistan that is far from stablilized, yeah, everything sure has just been super. Yup, terrorists abucting and beheading people, an economy that`s plummeted at really startling rates. Great, just great.

I mean, even though it appears that in the rest of the world terrorist acts have done nothing but increase, in france, denmark, the middle east (infidels), spain... just as long as those heathens stay off our soil I suppose i should consider everything just fine because I don`t know anyone anywhere else so f-them.

How many years were between the first WTC bombing and Oklahoma City? Then how long between that and the embassy bombings? Then how long between those and the WTC attack?
Not sure if there are any other notable ones I don't know of, but by the time tables, we're almost due for another. :/ |

| DonSlice - We had one terrorist attack per year between 1998 and 2001. After we finally got off our dead asses and decided to take the battle to them we`ve seen none. I side with Nebu completely here.
As for Yasser, I`d like to send him, his family, and 100% of his most ardent followers and admirers my deepest wishes for a speedy and painful death by your choice of...
1) Repeated impalement through the rectal area
2) Flesh eating bacteria coupled with a prolonged alcohol bath
I only wish they could bury the SOB in a grave of freshly slaughtered pigs so he might find his soul in further damnation and torture.
I have faith in the Isrealis, they don`t bring knives to a gun fight. The only reason Yasser lived as long as he did was because they granted him every second of borrowed time that he enjoyed.
Rest In Pieces, Yasser Arafat, Father of Modern Terrorism, of Middle Eastern Unrest, and Thief of the Palestinian People.

...you were being sarcastic, but I'll admit to feeling that way. Better someone else than me or someone I know. Anyone who doesn't have this same selfish attitude is lying. But it's not attitudes that kill, it's the terrorists. I think we're killing them at a much higher rate than they are us, so all I have to say to terrorists is "scoreboard." |

| Seriously though, Israel has tried on so many occasions to make peace. They would be content with their little plot of land the size of New Jersey but the Arab nations REFUSE to tolerate even a tiny plot of Jewish territory in the middle-east. It`s somewhat about religion but it`s also just plain racism. That`s why Israel has been invaded 4 times by the surrounding arab nations since they became a country in 1948. Israel won every war and always gave back the territory they conquered. Regardless, arab nations continue to screw with them. Israel even treats arabs living in their country better than arabs are treated in arab nations! It`s because of bastards like Arafat that we can`t negotiate peace in the middle-east and I won`t miss the guy. |

According to international law, that land belongs to Israel. There is no legal basis for the claim that it`s Palestinian land, just an angry anti-semitic tradition.

Yeah, tell them to dissolve their entire nation and give up all their rights and there won`t be any more fighitng. Cause they`ll have been destroyed. Great plan!
There have been constant wars against Israel since 1947, and it`s continued to win them and even GIVE BACK CONQUERED PALISTINIAN LAND. That`s not the action of a warmonger, that`s the action of a nation that wants to be left alone. What`s so bad about giving people the right to exist, a right that the UN declared was theirs? |

Do your homework. International law says Israel`s legitimate border is that of 1967, a border Israel doesn`t respect.

Is tearing down people`s houses and bombing refugee camps also an action of a state who wants to be left alone? |

| Eisenwolf: When you`re fighting an enemy that is bent on your destruction and is willing to resort to suicide bombings and the strapping of bombs to children, it`s unsurprising that you`d take a hard-line approach to defence, even to the extent of bombing refugee camps where suicide bombers are recruited or tearing down houses in a terrorism-rich area.
